OK, as most of you know, I'm finally getting a custom cam, appropriate springs, and freshening up the shortblock.

Here's the new setup, so what are your ET guesses.

408ci, 11:1 compression, cast eagle crank, eagle sir rods, probe dished pistons
Ported Canfield 192 heads, gasket matched to 1262R, flow 300/220@.700 lift
Ported Motorsport Vic Jr, ported through to 1262R and matches head ports perfect
Custom Buddy Rawls spec'd solid roller: 262/264@.050, .688 with 1.6 rocker on both int/exh, 110 lsa
Appropriate springs for said cam with titanium retainers and stud girdle
Holley 750 with 850 base, modified by PRC carbs (don't say put a dominator on it, not for a while LOL)
2" primary to 3.5" collector to 3" exhaust with ultraflos
Alt, w/p, and crank are the only accessories with a race pulley on crank
4200 rpm stall and t-brake
3.73 gear and 28" tires
3000 lbs race weight give or take 30-40 lbs

Previous best ET was 1.48 sixty, 6.67@103, 10.54@127 in high 70s/low 80s weather.
The previous cam was: 254/260, 621/627, 110 lsa
A couple of improvements are being made with the shortblock that should help out a bit.

The goal is 10.00, but that will probably be in perfect weather, so lets say 10.20s-10.30s in normal 80-90 degree weather.

I'm with Brent..... unless you find some way to put more atmosphere in your engine, your restriction is that carb.......

Tell ya what Carl. You can borrow by 950 by BIGS and try it in Jan if ya want. Its their top of the line. It flow 1000+ CFM. It might be something worth comparing it too. I might even be able to talk my brother into letting ya borrow a Davinci 950 that supports a 790hp 409 SBC. We can see if the carb is really the restriction.

IMO a Dominator is not required for this setup especially for an intake that isnt made for one. Plenty of Non Dominators going fast. I think a bigger carb yes, but not a dominator.

I may take you up on that Rex. I have a Davinci 950 thats actually for sale. I ran it on the car at one event and the car ran the same (possibly different weather). I never really tuned with the Davinci or got a good side by side comparison of runs at the track between that and my PRC carb. I did however measure the venturis and the base plate between the Davinci carb and my PRC carb. They are exactly the same! So I don't see the davinci carb letting in any more air than my 750 with milled choke horn and 850 base plate. The only thing the davinci has that mine doesn't is the adjustable/swappable air bleeds (which I don't know enough about).

Care to wager a track hamburger on that one there Hoosier Daddy? You on your 150 shot vs me on motor. You did say it was a 150 shot that you ran your best numbers on correct?

Or will that stock block even handle that 150 shot anymore???

Wait, does the winner eat the track burger or does the loser? Hard to say if it's a prize or a punishment.

I say 10.49 @ 125.9
