If I had any hair, I would certainly be pulling it out right now. My company is in unfamiliar territory at the moment. Business has never been as busy as it is right now. You would think thats a good thing, right? Wrong! We are suffering from man power shortages after losing a couple of our head machinists. Not only that, but our suppliers of raw material are not able to keep up with our manufacturing needs. We are extremely behind on orders with many running several weeks to almost a month late. Over the last three weeks, I have had more ass chewings by customers then I have had over the last 1-1/2 years. Not really sure how mush ass I have left. Its gotten so bad, I think I get more calls from customers inquiring as to where their stuff is then I do actually sales calls for quotes/new orders. I don't know if things can get much worse.

The only bright side is we have a new company president and word is he is going to be offering me a promotion to outside sales. I say offer, but I really won't have a choice since he plans to move my current position up to the corporate office in Wisconsin and I sure as hell am not moving up to the frozen yankee land. I guess its better then being let go all together. I "was" excited to hear that until I found out my territory will be the NW United States. :hmm:

With only taking two days off this year, I really think its time I take a nice long vacation away from this mess.

/me runs to check the calander to see when he can take off.

Ain't customer service fun? I go through this on a daily basis in my job and I too need a vacation.

Welcome to the wonderful world of manufacturing. Raw material supply and capacity/manpower has been a problem I've had to deal with since I graduated.

My last test fixture took 4 months to wait due to the lead times for the raw forging and then for the machining/inlaying.

Ugh.

Grow some facial hair Shane and then pull THAT out! (ouch)
