OK, I have a Charbroil 2 burner grill with the 3rd burner on the side for cooking sauces/beans, whatever. It is 5 years old and it cratered on me this weekend. The bottom metal shelve that holds the propane tank finally rusted to peices, one of the crossbars that holds the actual pit to the framework assembly rusted in half, and then when I was cooking on it Sunday, I removed the drip cover from over the gas elements and noticed that both elements are completely gone and the flame is shooting straight up. To top that off, I went ahead and did some quickie work to spread the flame so I could grill my fajita meat and then I went out to check on it and round flames coming out from the front of the grill getting dangerously close to the rubber propane lines.
Needless to say, I need to buy a new grill. Renee's company has offered to buy me a grill (well, the owner of the company mentioned it a couple times since I provided my grill for the company picnic this Saturday and that is where it started falling apart).
I want to get a stainless gas grill so I no longer have to worry about the frame work and what not rusting out. The grill sits outside, but is under an awning on my back porch.
I like a good sized main grill, but I also like having the additional trays above the main grill for slow cooking sausage and stuff. I like having the additional side burner, but haven't really used mine much. I would also like to be able to add a smoker attachment to it so that I can smoke some briskets/ribs, etc...
All that said, what are you all's experiences and what have you seen recently that is decent priced for what I'm looking for??
I looked on Home Depot, Lowes, and Academy's websites and they all seem to have a decent looking stainless grill priced at $499. None of them had a smoker attachment though and I didn't see one in accessories.
