FS: 2003 Ford F-150 SuperCrew XLT
34,9xx miles
Medium Toredor Red / Tan Cloth Buckets
4.6L V8
In-Dash CD / 6-CD changer
BRAND NEW TIRES
This is a one-owner truck that is in EXCELLENT condition. I purchased it new on Sept. 1st, 2003 from Randall Reed Ford and I have been the sole owner. The truck has rarely left the Kingwood/Humble/Atascocita area, thus the low miles. It has always been maintained and taken care of.
I have added an external 6-CD changer in addition to the In-Dash OEM single-CD unit. I have also replaced all 4 tires with brand new ones as of 200 (yes, two hundred) miles ago.
This truck has been back to Ford twice in the 3.5 years I've owned it - once for a defective radio and once for a broken seat belt adjuster. Both were minor repairs that were handled under warranty. Otherwise, I have had NO trouble out of this truck and would love to keep it. My wife and I are expecting our third child and we've simply run out of seats with this vehicle.
I've had several people tell me that it looks like a brand new truck and I tend to agree! Come see it in person to really appreciate it!
I have about 50 pictures and a current CarFax report available upon request.
$17,900 OBO

Seeing as that this IS the internet, and that this IS an ad for a vehicle for sale, I must ask the obligatory questions.
1) Will you finance it, my credit sucks, but I can pay $100 a month.
2) Will you sell it as a roller?
3) I only need the wheels, are they for sale separately?
4) My Mom might loan me the money, will you take 10k for it?

5) Have you ever had sex in it? i know it to be unlikely , but seeing as you are very prodigious at making children i don't want any leftovers impregnating my girlfriend.

Yes, but I will require a $17,800 down payment.
2) Will you sell it as a roller?
Sure! With the new tires it rolls quite nicely. I prefer to drive my cars rather than push them around, but once you buy it, I suppose that's your decision to make.
3) I only need the wheels, are they for sale separately?
Yes they are. The wheels are for sale for $17,900 and they include a free 2003 F-150.
4) My Mom might loan me the money, will you take 10k for it?
That depends. What does your mom look like? Would you classify her as "MILF"?

My only leftovers are on your girlfriend's upper lip, so I wouldn't worry about it.

My leftovers got stuck in her moustache, so that was sort of a mood killer. I wonder what her manager said when she showed up for work at Jack in The Box? I bet that was awkward....
No trades... Why buy the cow when you can get the milk for free?

SOLD!
Sort of! :)
Traded both the F-150 and 2002 Expy in on a 2004 Expedition at CarMax last weekend. Carmax gave me a fair price on the F-150 (about $1500 higher than most other dealers) and gave me enough on the Expy (that I've owned only since November) that I had about $1000 in positive equity there. All in all, only had $500 negaitive equity on the deal, which considering everything, wasn't too bad.
The new Expedition is:
2004 XLT Sport 5.4L
Midnight Blue / Charcoal Grey trim & cladding
Grey Leather interior
37,300 miles
6 CD in-dash changer
Rear seat DVD Entertainment Syetem with Wireless Headphone
PowerFold 3rd row seats
We just got home from it's maiden voyage (trip to DFW this weekend) and it's SOOO much nicer than the 2002. Between the rack-and-pinion steering and IRS, it rides and steers like a dream. Ford really did a nice job on the newer style Expy. For anyone in the market, I'd highly recommend an 03+ over the 98-2002 models.
And best of all, insurance is actually cheaper on the 04 than it was on either the 03 F-150 or 02 Expy. Go figure.

Oh, this was also my first dealing with CarMax and I'm very, very impressed. I went to the "North Houston" lot (I-45 / Richey) and worked with a guy named Brad Wolfe. There was ZERO pressure and with the "no haggle" pricing and fixed appraisal value on the trades, it was very easy to figure the numbers out. No shell games with the numbers and none of the usual sales tactics.
I was surprised to see LOTS of very low-mile used cars there. Lots of 06 and 07 models with <10K miles at substantial discounts off new. When it comes time to replace this one, I'll definitely give them a look.... Nothing like buying a $41K (when new) vehicle for less than half that in mint condition. Let someone else eat that initial depreciation!!

Glad to hear it worked out for you Darrell. We have an 04 Expedition and we love it.
We sold a 1995 Honda Passport to Carmax back in 2002. I was very pleased with the experience. They gave us a very fair price on it and they even found out that it had been in a big front end collision before we owned it (that explained the wind noise from the drivers door). They showed us the insurance report on the accident and then still gave us plenty of money on a 90k mile vehicle that they admitted they would take straight to auction. Overall good experience. Carmax is the first place I hit when looking to get rid of a fairly new vehicle.

I've sold a couple of vehicles at Carmax, but never purchased one from them. Glad to see that your transaction went smoothly. However, I know a guy who owns a body shop and he has stated that Carmax is one of his biggest clients. The "we don't sell wrecks" claim isn't entirely true.

Yeah, I didn't take them at their word on that claim, either. So, with the wind blowing 30 mph and starting to sprinkle, I'm scooting under the truck and having a look around.. LOL! Same as I would do buying any used car from anywhere.
But, on mine at least, no evidence of frame repairs, replacement panels, or paint work. At "closing" I found out that it's a 3-yr lease turn-in and was owned by a woman who lives two neighborhoods over from me. Small World!
The 30-day warranty is nice, also. At least covers you long enough to really figure out if there's something not working. So far, the only think I've found is the little LEDs that light up the driver's side window control (the tiny green arrows) don't work. Besides that, everything appears to be good. A factory warranty would obviously be better, but the price of the car goes up accordingly...
For now, I had the front roll-ups tinted on Thursday, ordered a second keyless entry remote off ebay for $16 and am looking for a good floor mat set and it'll be done!

D, I 'think' we have a rear mat somewhere around the house from Jessica's '00/01(?). If I can find it, and it's good for her, it's yours for freebies!
Oh, I just read all the stuff above, and about bust a gut laughing, LOL! You guys kill me!

That is a little annoyance that will probably come back time and time again. Ours has 3 or 5 out depending on the moment. The sunroof up/down is out, the drivers window up is out and the rear drivers window up/down both flickered on and off the other day until I smacked it and it came back on. I've read that these commonly go out. Not sure what the underlying issue is. Weird. Oh yeah...and it could use about 75 more horsepower.

Yeah, the first day we had it, it was just the down arrow that was out, now both of the arrows for the driver's front button are out. Like you mentioned, I also read that it's relatively common. I figure if that's the worst that happens, I'll still sleep well at night.

Sounds like you got a good deal Darrell (again!). When we were looking for our Yukon, we looked at Carmax, but every one we found was a good $3,000-4,000 more than what we paid. I've decided that unless I'm buying a performance car, I'll always look for a good 2-3 yr old "pre-owned" vehicle first. Oh, and the lights on our window controls have gone out also, so it is not just a Ford thing. I keep hitting the wrong button for the drive thru!
