Very trick Martin!

Do you have any idea what he's doing with his old car that this motor was in?

Cool stuff. There's some crazy fast half breed cars running around up here in Detroit.

Ready for this. Rumor I heard is the car is going to be a street car again.
Kyle had 2 identical motor's and he is going to lower the compression with a different set of piston's.
This is 2nd hand information and you know how that can be.

A street car with a funny car cage.

It is definitely a clean Camaro!

I liked the silver car much more than his current black one. Any idea why he changed?

Any idea who originally built the motor for him?

He bought a limited street car which is tubbed and ladder bar already. Sad thing is after he got it back, he re-did the whole cage and some other work. I don't think he was planning on all of that.
You really need to see the motor. 707 inch 5 inch bore spacing, split dominator's and 4 nitrous kits LOL. I was told just from the intake up was 16 grand. It is all from Fulton.

Martin,

Westside Machine. He really doesn't know what every part is in the motor. Just build me a 598 that hauls A##. I know from talking to Chip that he has more $ in this motor than I had in my Ford BB. The nitrous is a fogger and a plate but the plate was specially built by Fulton.
When he gets it freshened, he receives the motor back ready to run, even run in on a dyno.

I told you I would piss someone off.

Roger, at least its not going into a HONDA .

I know that would make you proud. :D

Don't forget. It's your fault I'm doing this now. Just took me for one low 11 second ride down the street. I couldn't even fasten the seat belts.

Fun Ford has not had a class I could run this car in since I built it and NMRA is just to far away. I will be legal for Factory Street, COTT True 10.5, Clobberthon is having a bunch of true 10.5 races this year and I know there will be some more not to far away. This is more than I will be able to attend without even thinking about Fun Ford.

:ashamed: When I had thoughts of putting a Chevy in my Ford I did the most prudent thing..... I sold it!!!!!!!

Does Chip work with you Martin?

I see his motor is up for sale and his chassis is for sale on racingjunk. Is he getting out or upgrading?

Yes he works with me now at Hub.

He wants to build one the size of mine and instead of re-building his, he wants to sell the shortblock and start over. The only part he would still re-use would be the block anyway. He plans on running the same heads, cam, etc.
I will say this. For what he has invested in that car, it hauls. 7.90s at 175MPH aand you know the wind resistance must be pretty bad in a Chevelle at those kind of speeds.

I like the way Racin Jason says it "Built Ford tough, with Chevy stuff"

You can always show up at the track and we could have a little grudge race.

So, if I understand you correctly, you're going to put this in your Stang, or did you get another car as well?

BTW, I don't blame you for giving up on FFW...and why NMRA never holds an event in Houston is beyond me. Like they say, if you can't beat 'em, join 'em.

Martin, you can still bracket race with it at FFW LOL. As long as you've got a ford vehicle, they don't car what motor is in it.

Hell, I even saw a roadster type bracket car, open wheeled, nothing on that vehicle was ford, but he had a sticker on the front that said Ford on it and was running in the brackets. He had a small block chevy in it.

Are you sure about that? Last I heard, vehicles running in FFW had to be atleast powered by a Ford motor.

I didn't go check the rules, but I have seen a few vehicles running brackets with chevy power.
The roadster was one.
Gary Giddens in his 65 mustang with SBC 400 was running the brackets
I believe that brown fairmont wagon with the LS1 in it ended up running in brackets.

I doubt Martin would bracket race that motor though, especially considering all the T10.5 events he can race in.

edit: Just went to FFW's site and looked at the rules, they do have Ford Powered in the rules for the brackets and in the specific rules for the other classes.

Ahh well, Martin can just come help Alex if he decides to run FFW.

Yes
The same car I have owned for way over 10 years is now getting a Chevy motor installed.
This car has been through a bunch of changes throught the years.

Carl, unless FFW has changed their rules recently, the vehicle has to be Ford powered. I can remember years back a guy used to show up at Houston and Dallas with a Firebird that had a Ford smallblock installed. That car got a lot of attention at FFW.
Just checked the FFW site. All brackets are reserved for Ford powered vehicles.
I am pretty much done with bracket racing, at least for now.
I am going to go as fast as I can this year. Thats what I want to do.
Just as long as I can drive it. :racing:
Alex is installing a reverse F2 on his car now. We talked last night and decided we need to make as many races this year as we both can. Thats what we built the car's for and it seems like both of them sit in the garage way too much.

Fired up the motor tonight, 02/15/07.
Unless I run into a big problem I will be racing True 10.5 at the Clobberthon on Saturday.
Wish me luck.
I still have several hours of work to finish up all the detail's and looking it over to see what I forgot to tighten, install properly, etc LOL

Ran a 5.18 at 139 4th pass, and no burned plugs. 1st 2 passes blew the tires, third pass (first round) was 2 big wheel stands, off the gas twice and still ran a 5.7x
Lost to Justin Curry in the second round, but that was expected.
Nitrous was stepped down by Kyle for the first time out. He calls these baby shots lol
I believe I can run 5.0 times with the nitrous jets I am currently running.
This was the best move I ever made. I can finally tune for the track instead of trying not to burn up the motor. We have not pulled all the plugs. The few we looked at were like new, with just a bit of color.
Don't take this wrong. I love Ford motor's, but I just could not make mine work with much over a 350 shot.
I was told I am spraying around 500 and this is "not much" according to Kyle and his chassis builder. They just gave me a look, shook there heads and said "that's not much"
