anyone really good at soldering wires and small connectors ?
I want to install a modchip on my Playstation 2, and the best mod chip available right now has to be soldered and has 40 wires.
I don't think I am up to it, so I am looking for someone else to do the job.
no game stores install modchips, they all tell me no and get mad.
thanks

I will pay some one to do it !
I don't expect someone to do the work for free.

LOL! Teague, it's been real slow here for the last couple of days, with everybody back in school or just school in session. I'd offer, but I can't concentrate or see, and I'm behind on the last project you gave me :D
BTW, Hanlon FINALLY found the tailhousing bushing for me Friday; nearly one month after I placed the order. I hope to get it done for you in a couple of weeks...
You might try Troy on WSM, or Mike Glover; both can and might do the job...

LOL! I'm surprised you even asked them...haha Mod Chip = the ability to play "borrowed" games which means you won't buy new games from them....
I installed a couple ModChips a few years back and they aren't all that difficult to do. But, I'm about 8 hrs away from Houston, so I'm not gonna be much help
Just found it funny that you asked the game stores and they got pissed off..hehe

Hey I am the new guy around here, but I used to do Avionics repair back in the service. Worked in mini-comp, can solder small stuff no problem, but don't have the equipment. The equipment alone would run more than getting a bootlegger or tech to do it. Another idea is to check out a couple of cb shops and radio repair guys. They do all sorts of wiring/soldering.

What branch of the service were you in? I would guess either Air Force or Navy since you were involved in avionics. I was in the Air Force (92-96) and was a Weapons System Specialist (bomb loader) on F-16's. Guffinator (another person on this web site) was also in the Air Force and was a Crew Chief on F-16's.
Teague: I have quite a bit of experience soldering as I got a job doing it for a living for a while right after I got out of the service. If you have the tools, I might be able to give it a try for ya.

I think thats the reason they got mad, but hey I got no shame.
HangNail: I will try to look them up, no need for you to go by there. where is first colony mall again ? what highway ?
Wild Stallion/HoustonLX: all I have is the solder and a little $7.00 radio shack soldering iron.
There is no temperature settings or anything,
thats why I don't want to attempt it myself!
I will try that first colony mall place.

yea dude.... im pretty sure its at 59 and highway 6
take 59 and exit at highway 6, take a left under 59, get in tha right hand lane after you go under 59.... take a right at tha first light.... follow that down and youll land in tha first coloney mall parking lot. :)
