...for people on Mustang message boards. I used to think that some (present company excluded, of course) were some of the dumbest asses on the planet.

Then, I found Craigslist.org...holy shit! Talk about a bunch of asshats! They make some of these Mustang clowns look like MENSA members!

Check out my latest for sale ad (specifically the FAQ toward the bottom) All the the FAQs are based in fact ( to include the guy that called me at 2 am last night):

What's really disheartening is that SINCE posting that ad this morning, I've recieved the following e-mails:

(1) - "Can it be put into my name"?
(1) - "Will you finance"?
(3) - "I got cash"
(8) - "That's the funniest shit I've ever read...good luck with the sale!" :)

And to top it all off, I just got a phone call:

<Me> Hello?
<Dumbass> Hello...I'm calling about the 2003 F-150 SuperCrew you have listed on Craigslist?
<Me> OK..
<DA> What's the payoff on it?
<Me> Well...once the lease is over, which is Nov 2008, there is a $9600 payoff.
<DA> Lease?
<Me> Yeah, it's a Lease assumption.
<DA> Oh...is there, like, a balloon payment at the end or something?
<Me> It's all spelled out in the ad on Craigslist...did you read it?
<DA> Yeah, I read it.
<Me> The balloon payment is $9600 in Nov 08
<DA> So you'll take $9600?

It went on like this for several more minutes before it was obvious that he probably had $400 cash and thought he'd be driving home a 2003 Ford truck with it.

What's scary is that some of these fools probably VOTE! :eeek: :eeek:

I think you need to borrow Raj's line in his for sale ad's... "Stupid questions will be cheerfully ignored" ;)

So if i come down there, can i just take the truck since you say you dont need the 400 dollars ? You can sign the title over to ben and that would be fine with me.

That is really funny. Could I hire you to list and sell my car? Seeing as you are experienced and also know about 95's. I think it's a perfect fit.

This doesn't surprise me in the least. I remember selling my wife's 01 GT convertible with 21k miles on it. I was shocked at how many replies I got wanting parts off of it. Idiots.

As far as them being voters...does Florida mean anything. I was just out in New Mexico and saw a bunch of leftover signs for voting. They had just switched to the new electronic ballot. I hate to admit this, but my FIL had hand written directions that he had copied from a hand-out with the directions on it. Why didn't he just take the hand-out with him. I won't get into that rant...that's for a whole new thread and it will need A LOT of bandwidth available, lol!

darrell, i have concluded after reading several versions of your add.
1. it is too complicated
2. it is too long.
3. it contains too many nouns
4. it contains too many verbs.
5. it is english

may i suggest
Title: truck
body: i have a truck.

Any more calls? We need entertainment!! :D

Actually yes,

I get a call today from a guy with a thick, southern drawl. He's asking all sorts of insane questions, most of which have been asked before and many of which have been covered in this thread and the CL ad. I was losing patience with this guy pretty quickly, but had to keep my cool since I was on the cell phone at a customer site.

Then, he asks if I'll come down on the price if he lets me sleep with his wife. I was speechless. I'm thinking "WTF??".....I couldn't beleive he asked me that!?

Turns out it was a couple of the guys I work with. They convinced one of our other customers (who was from Mississippi) to call and fuck with me... LOL!! Bastards!

On a more serious note, I got an e-mail asking if it was still available. And then no further replies. I guess he was just doing an inventory check or something. /me shrugs
