Whew! It's been a long day.
Reader's Digest version: 1st run=313h.p. Last run = 350h.p.
Got at Strictly Performance at 9:00 - unloaded the car and put it on the dyno.
The first run was without a chip (Diablo Chipmaster). Results: 313hp. The "Torque" part of the data acquisition wasn't functioning. Figuring more hp = more torque, it wasn't that big of a deal. I just wanted to optimize what I had and a HP reading would do it.
After adjusting timing, fuel pressure, replacing the old chip (apparently I fried it at some point) and tuning the new one AND taking the 6000 rpm limit pill outta the MSD, the A/F mixture was clean all the way through the rpm range. The last two pulls were within 3 hp - so there was no need to go anymore.
I'm pleased with the results. Afterall, the engine was built to be a streetable engine (relatively small cam and low compresion). The car starts and idles fine and no back-firing, spitting and sputtering that was going on before during WOT.
I also learned I need to move my shift light up to about 6K.
Next stop? Nitrous. :smokin:

Cool deal. FWIW I put down 343 on strictly's dyno and have been 7.05 and 11.15 at 3060 lbs. Just to give you an idea of where you're at once the suspension is all working and you learn that 2nd gear is between 1st and 3rd ha ha.

What I meant to say was that it's possible I have a 10 second car even before the NAWZ? Cool. :smokin: :racing:
(then there's that part about 'actually doing it' ;))
J/K. Good info. Thx.

O!Doode, I'd pay YOU to have your name on my car! (Actually, I'm sure that's what you'd demand in return. Ha!)
'Would love to have you (and everyone else on here that used to hang out together) come out next time. Give me some pointers, cheer me off the wall, race your own, etc.

Rick, bring it to the S&S index race this Saturday. If you're not running in any indexes, you can get a free tech card for T&T (plus $20 spectator fee) if you put a $ sign on the window that you'll race for cash. You and I can setup a grudge race through Gary.

I'm waiting on an electric WP. I also might need to drop the tranny and have it looked at (transbrake not holding).
I haven't looked at the car since I got it back from Sealy (when it ran hot).
Plus, I'm just plain skeeered! ;)

Transbrake not holding could mean low on fluid. How does it shift otherwise? Does it hit the gears fairly hard, or does it slip a bit in the top of 1st/2nd?
Shouldn't be skeered of my little car, practically the same motor, but my car is heavier!

Cooling schmooling, electric fan and a battery charger. All the pit parking has electricity, so bring the stuff and keep it cool between passes.
