View Full Version : oh what a weekend

This has truely not been one of my finest weekends. First, I lose a street race to a 4.6 on gas (set him out 2 1/2 and the move and only was able to get within 1 car length) Friday night. Then I lose tonight to a cammed LS1 (spun baaaaadly off the line). Not 5 minutes after the race, I swing through a gas station to put a little gas in the car. Guy would not turn on the pump, so I walk in and pay for gas and get some smokes. After walking out of the store, I was busy thinking about the race I had just lost and completely forgot I had YET to pump the gas. I get in the car and go to pull away ...BANG, CRACK, CLANK CLANK CLANK . Yep, thats right. I jerked the fuel nozzle and hose right out of the gas pump. Lucky for me the gas stations are now prepared for such occurances (atleast I am not the only idiot who has driven off with the pump nozzle still installed in the gas tank). They now come equiped with some safety break-away devise. The only lucky part about this is I did not damage the car in any way :o .
After proving I am not the brightest person in the world, lets just say this is one weekend I would soon like to forget.
/me is thinking there is 1 more day to the weekend also. Sunday might be a good day to stay in bed out of sight...:ashamed:

After this weekend, I don't care to test that theory  .

Damn, That brings back memories. I did the same thing when I was 17. I left my 82GT filling up and went in to pay while it was pumping. My girlfriend worked there so I talked to her for a while and I guess lost my frame of thought and pulled out with the nozzle and it broke off at the pump and slingshot into my back window and broke that biotch. Then proceeded to dump about 15 bucks worth of gas before I got there and shut it off.
Wish Ford would have put the filler neck on the drivers side.
Thats just between us now! :p

Shane my Brutha.....I now get free coffee at the Shell station at Loutta and Ella cause I gave them the best laugh of the once. I too drove off with the pump in my car.
One day it will be one of the funniest things you've ever done....trust me ;)

hahahaha....Thanks for making me feel vetter Tracy and Bubba. Its nice to know I am not the only pomofo to have done this.
Rusty...I don't have to pay a dime. I went inside to see if I needed to give my name or anything and the clerk said not to worry about it. I guess the break-away devise is some sort of quick disconnect and is easily reconnected.

The Clerk could probably tell by the look on your face that you had paid enough.

Yep, just damage to my pride. For 2 a.m., that gas station was packed. And every eye was trained on me. :ashamed:

Update:
Looks like the gas hose did cause a lil damage to the car. Earlier today, I found a small dent and chipped paint on that hatch near the key hole. I guess I didn't get away from this unscaved after all. Oh well!!! :ashamed:
