Well, I'm at the point where I need to start making some decisions about spark plug wires. Considering how close the turbo downpipe is to the cylinder head, I can't afford to have the extra length that is common in most pre-cut Mustang wire sets.

So, I'm considering purchasing a universal set and making the wires the exact length that I want. I'm curious if anyone here has done this before and if so, which brands would you recommend?

Do most of these universal kits come with the crimpers or are they sold seperately?

Thanks!

Not sure D, but I have an MSD unit I bought for just a few dollars from Summit. If I recall (I've never used it, LOL!), you use a vise to close the two halves and crimp the lug...

I've done this multiple times, IMO it's the only way to go. I also have in my possession a pair of MSD plug wire crimpers(pliers). When you buy the universal sets of wires they do come with a crimper like O! is describing, and it's quite easy to use.

Agreed, I've done this before, though not on the Cobra, but when it comes to universal wires, it's pretty much all the same thing. It's not difficult, just tedious. Make sure you measure twice and cut/crimp once!
