I have a 94 Z28 LT1 with a l60e tranny. My problem is I have gone through 2 stock transmission mounts in the 2 weeks I've had the car. This time I replaced it with a polyurethane mount by Energy Suspension. Now I notice a vibration that wasn't there before. I'm not sure what's causing this. Maybe I hurt something when I sheared the mount in half? Maybe the polyurethane mount just transfers the feel better? U-joints? Rear transmission seal? I noticed a small amount of fluid leaking from the rear of the transmission where it meets the driveshaft when I changed the mount. I can see wear on the floorpan where the driveshaft hit it. Also what are some possible reasons I could be going through tranny mounts so quickly? Thanks in advance

I'm by no means the PoMoFo tranny expert, but I'll offer my thougts.
First, the vibrations you are now feeling are due to the new mount. I believe this mount has a piece of metal in it, making it much stiffer than OEM replacements. F-Body friends of mine have stated that they have removed the metal piece and the vibrations/harshness go away.
It really sounds to me like you have something wrong that's taking out the mounts. More evidence to support this is the fact that your rear main seal is leaking. Why did your ds hit the floorpan? That's not normal ;).
I'd check to see if the d/s is warped. If it's not, make sure it's in balance. If that doesn't yield anything, it might be your transmission that's messed up.
I hope that helps. Perhaps the resident expert (nay) will provide his thoughts.

The torque causes the tranny and driveshaft to jump when there is no mount to hold them down. I also need thoughts on the best driveshaft and u-joints to replace the stock. I may as well replace them now because I'll have to do it eventually anyway. Someone said I could get a aluminum one for around 170 bucks. If so where?

Hey Mike, sounds like you should ditch the chevy & buy a FORD...LOL FMS sells drive shafts for $150(for stangs)....maybe you could take burtha out in a field & shoot her....LMAO All B/S aside, I'm willing to bet your driveshaft is bent...there are places here in OKC that can straighten & balance them, or just build you a new one. Call me & I'll get you there info....later
