I'm wanting to put a stop on my clutch pedal so I can adjust the travel. I've seen this done by welding a nut or rod coupling on the side of the pedal arm and threading a bolt through it which hits the floorboard and limits the travel. I found another way of acomplishing this but it involves drilling a 1/2 inch hole through the clutch pedal arm. The hole will have a 1/2 inch bolt threded through it. Do you think this will weaken the arm enough that I shouldn't do it? Does anybody have an extra clutch arm (fox body) in case I break mine? I really want to find a way to make this work.
I measured the clutch pedal arm, it is 1 1/8 inch which would leave 5/16 on each side of the hole I want to drill.
