View Full Version : Joe Golden at HRG needs to follow his own "rules" (or lack of)

I offered to run Alan for the vacant #5 street king spot tonight, and was promptly BANNED from www.hotrodgossip.com.

Joe Golden also said I had to tell him my combo before I would be eligible to run for the spot, so I sent him an email with my specs, which include n2o (that you all know I run maybe 2 times a year). Im too poor to run it more than that.

He emails me back, telling me
Thanks for your interest in the street kings...I think you may have missed the beginning of this new class...Fast 5.0 is the one that proposed the all motor class. It is for car that do not run NOS..In the beginning it was stated that the new class was for cars that have never run NOS. I have had several cars that said they would take out the 'bottle and run..but this is for cars that do not use NOS.. It is not for a NOS car to set down to all motor and then the next day Hook up the gas.

thanks for your interest,
joe golden

According to that, if a car has EVER ran n2o (which I KNOW the former #5 car has), you aren't eligble. Sounds to me like he's making up the rules as he goes (AGAIN).

So I respond with
Haha, ok, so why ban me? I cant access the site. Btw, why have your rules page say "THERE ARE NO RULES". Im not gonna use the gas. I only use it twice a year at Fun Ford Weekend. But if that's how you want to play it, that's fine, but why ban me from the site? That's no way to run a site. And I know, b/c I run www.PoMoFoRacing.com.

He responds with
I thought your attitude was a little abrasive...sorry maybe my first impression was wrong. The 'Gossip site has been up for 3 years, over 2 million hits,,,For a long time i took abuse from the readers, but i have gotten tired of it...

So I inquired
so am I unbanned? There are many many more that are way more abrasive than I am. Btw, what is the "requirements" for the #4 spot?

To which he replied (this is a good one btw)
Thats my car, the '36.....anything goes here!!..but first of all i have to like you...you falling in the crack here.

So, they took the #5 spot from Bubba b/c he hadn't raced a challenger within 3 days of winning the spot, yet Joe says HE has to like the challenger or he wont race them for HIS spot?

It's obvious that guy makes up his own rules to make himself and his clique happy. Alan has challenged to run for the #5 spot more than once and they always ignore him. I guess they dont want the Fords holding a spot on their list!

Pretty amusing stuff.

I would but it would be pointless it's obvious from the verbage Joe chooses that he is very hung up on being the "king" of his "kingdom", practicly every sentence ends with "I have the final say" or "unless I decide otherwise" or "unless one of my little yap yap dogs shits in my lap while I'm ruling my kingdom from the safety of my computer"

EXACTLY why I am not getting involved in this one. They are a breed of their own on HRG. That breed is IN-breed!!!

Of course, that's my opinion, and if'in you wanna ban me, you gotta beat me in reverse while towing my car...

BTW, three points for the dog crap comment!

We're in on it for fun, we're dying laughing at each other about it on IRC.

Here's what I posted on HRG after speaking with Joe Golden.

"Joe and I chatted today and decided that my job takes me away to much to participate in the Fast 5.0 spot. Apparently this new class is getting attention at the rate of a few races requested per week. I can't keep up with that as I have a career and family to spend time with and my car is the hobby, not the other way around. Good luck and have fun...look out though, cause when I get some spare time I'll be back...

Later,
Bubba"

I did tell Joe that BubbaBro was gonna come own the class though. And #2 car Jimbo refused to run BubbaBro on "just motor"

Laters....

Yet another reason to go to the Nasty,Joe Golden has been banned from that track in a sense,in a sense if he shows up people are gonna beat his ass.He ran his street kings at the nasty for awhile and was always making rule changes at the drop of a hat, alot of people that go there are POMOFO's and couldn't keep up with all the crap this guy dishes out,and so he was warned show up and get beat up.

So does he do all of his street king racing at Sealy now?

He does it at Sealy or HRP or even worse on the street!I'm the type if i'm gonna defend a title it'll be at the track, that way there is no guessing on who got there first or who jumped who outta the hole.

I kinda got ragged because I told them I don't street race, track only. They said sometimes the titles have to be defended on the street. Oh well....
