So Brent was at HMP helping me out and spectating at the clobberthon. Well, we make a few changes to the car trying to get some new nitrous bests out of it after I lost in round 2. I decide thats enough nitrous for tonight and pulled the bottle and decided to let Brent make a pass in the car. I never get to see it run down the track, always driving LOL. So after readjusting a few things (seat belts) and going over the ropes of all my jerry rigged, errrr specially configured items (fuel pumps, shifting, t-brake, etc...)
Well, he gets up to the lanes and does his burnout, stages the car and comes up hard on the footbrake. Lights come down and he nails it. I thought I saw a little wheelie, but maybe not. I never heard the car shift from 1st to 2nd, but I heard the 2nd-3rd shift at the end of the track. Well, not being used to my reverse pattern hurst quarter stick, when he launched the car, he pulled back to 2nd gear and ran almost the entire track in 2nd. Results:
.81 r/t
1.82 sixty foot (in 2nd gear LOL)
7.68 1/8
94 mph 1/8

So I see the car will run a 12.00 quarter mile, maybe a little faster by launching in 2nd gear. Can't be good for the tranny though.

I went back around and made a pass and went 7.22@95 mph with a 1.60 sixty foot.

Oh and as far as best passes of the night:
On the nitrous we got a 6.82 out of it at 99.5 mph with a 1.46 sixty foot! That is on a little 75 shot of NX, motor timing set at 22 base, pulled out .5 degree for the nitrous (running mixed 93 and 110 octane fuel), running about 1150 psi in the bottle. Came back around and backed it up with a 6.84@99.5 with a 1.48 sixty foot.
Best on motor was the first pass of the day off the trailer, 1.55 sixty foot, 7.15@95 mph. The rest of the motor passes were slower as I can't seem to find the sweet spot with the converter, transbrake, and suspension. I was spinning a bit on the later passes, but maintained 94-95 mph on every pass.

Thanks for the ride, I've never driven with a reverse manual valvebody before so I'm not suprised it happened. As soon as I launched the motion of the car made me pull the sifter back into 2nd. I was supprised it still had that high mph. We need to spend some time and fix all of the "jerry rigged" stuff on your car. Who is Jerry anyway?

Don't worry Brent. I've stuffed neutral a couple times shifting from 1 to 2 when I first get my reverse pattern. Thank god for MSD limiters.

one of the last time out this year, Trey didn't put the glide in low, he took off in d, ran a 6.20, lol I knew I didn't hear a shift. I couldn't believe just the converter let it do that.
