Just a reminder about the upcoming Tech Day for line locks. I would like the get started at 10:00am, so we have plenty of time to get these things done. I have one soldering iron, one cordless drill, and two electric drills; if you happen to have a cordless drill, an extra one might not be a bad idea (I promise to charge my batteries!).

I'd like to see a show of hands of who is planning to attend, and if they are bringing the spouses. I think Debra has some craft-style activities planned inside for the ladies (or less manly men! :D)...

I had plan on making deer chili (big o' pot!), but will entertain other ideas if presented. I have a small smoker and a 100QT boiling pot, FWIW...

Please indicate here if you plan to attend, so I can sort out a parking scheme. Most of you have been to the house, but if you need directions, I will write some up...

I'll be there, minus the line lock stuff, as I cant afford it right now. However, I can bring a cordless drill, a soldering iron and other electrical accessories, and an extension cord.

SFC install has been moved to Sunday. I will be there (as long as others are installing their LL's!)

Well it looks like I'll be there. Don't think I'll be installing a line lock unless I can make all the way to Alvin in 4th gear (chances are I won't have the T5 rebuilt by then).

I do however have a few tools that might help out. I've got a flaring tool, tubing bender, soldering gun and a Big Friggin Hammer! Anything else? I've got quite a bit of brake stuff since I did the M2300k kit. Let me know if you need anything.

I'm trying to get someone to work for me on Friday night. I'll probably still come anyway I'll just be real friggin tired. It's hard to say how I'll feel after a 12 1/2 hour night shift.,:D

I am still in. I still have to get all the parts (only have the Biondo LL right now). But I plan on having everything ready.

I'm going to try my best to be there, but won't have a line lock to install at this time...but I've got other stuff I can work on... :burnout:

Well, I'm not sure if I can make it or not. I'm subbing on call for someone else on that Saturday, so technically I should be available to go in to work.
Ahh, screw it, I'll go anyway! I am not on the LL install list, but I can spectate and eat/drink like the best of 'em! :P

I can bring tools if anyone needs them, but I don't have many fancy things, like brake stuff, etc.

Come on guys, Chris aint inviting us over for tea and crumpets, LOL!

What happened to all the excitement? I'm contemplating towing the transmissionless LX down to do a line lock install. I don't want a bunch of bums sitting in lawn chairs eating sammiches watching me work. Trust me...it aint pretty. :D

So the count stands at 1/2 a line lock ready to install....

T-minus three days:

So far I see three installs: Shane, Kyle, and Robert. Is that it? Fred, did you get a LL?

I don't mind having extra people down, but if you don't know me by now, or haven't worked with me (or seen me work), you know I need space. Also, I tend to be focused on the intent, and the intent here is linelocks...

That being said, this is a linelock Tech Day, and I'd like to stay focused. I do not have enough room to have several things going at once (I don't think...). If it's a small project, we will try and do them after all the linelocks have been installed...

Another word of warning: I found out a day ago Alvin is having a soccer tournament this weekend. What does that mean? 15 million people in and around the neighborhood, screaming, yelling, kicking, and making my life hell, for three days...I had planned to take the truck/trailer/turd down to the school, but may have to change that plan.

Once again, I ask for a show of hands. Anybody esle besides Kyle, Robert, and Shane? Brent, what did you have in mind?

Thanks all!

CAN

I plan on being there to lend a hand, depending on how the remodeling of the master bathroom is coming. The only project I have that I need to complete is installing my new purge valve, but I've had my upper on and off so many times I can do it in my sleep. I hope to be there but prob won't know for sure till Friday.

I plan to come down and hang around for awhile :).

I'm trying to think of anything I can install on my car while I'm there....

I'll be there. The LL is still in transit to my house so hopefully it will get here. See you guys Saturday.

Update:

Due to finacial reasons, I will not be installing my LL. However, this tech day won't go without something to do. The LL was the only part of the kit I had while Fred had all the necessary small parts needed to complete the task. Fred will go ahead and install my LL on his car. I will still be out to to lend a hand/drink beer/get in the way...:D

Ok, update for those who cant find the 1/8" NPT to 3/16" inverted flare T fitting.

I went to OReilly's today and conjured up the next best thing.

I got the 3/16" (all the way around) 1 male - 2 female T fitting (Part number 127333) shown here (http://pomofo.com/tfitting1.jpg) and here (http://pomofo.com/tfitting2.jpg).

Then I picked up a 3/16 inverted flare-to-1/8 NPT fitting, as seen here (http://pomofo.com/adapter1.jpg) and here (http://pomofo.com/adapter2.jpg). The part number for this fitting is 124320.

The final "product" will look like this (http://pomofo.com/finalt.jpg) when done.

The bags they came in look like these (http://pomofo.com/bags.jpg) and say Edelmann at the top.

Hope this helps those who still need the T for the LL day, or for the future folks who plan on doing this swap.

Regards,

Good deal Fred! Once the rainy season stops douwn here in the tropics (or I fashion a boat from the roof of the Sublet), I'll get to Hi-Lo here and see what they have too...

Kyle/Robert: were you guys able to source the Tee yet?

Chris

Anybody have any idea when this stuff will let up? No sense in a TD in the rain (save for you Rusty; yours is an inside job)...

Inside job...sounds like the mafia or something ;).

I don't have a clue when it will stop, but I vote for N-O-W!

Hrm, here's the weather from www.weatherchannel.com (the % on the end is chance of rain):

Fri Aug 16 Scattered T-Storms 87°/76° 40%
Sat Aug 17 Mostly Cloudy 90°/75° 10%
Sun Aug 18 Isolated T-Storms 91°/74° 30%

Looks like we might be in luck, but we all know how Mr. Weatherman likes to lie to us.

Chris,

I still haven't gotten the T. I'm going shopping this afternoon for parts. I've got to work a job this morning and then I'll try to parts shop and put on the exhaust over lunch. Doh! I think I'm going to end up putting the car together tomorrow morning to drive it down (forgot I have to help a buddy move this afternoon).

Last Minute Kyle
