I was reading a thread (http://www.corral.net/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=141799) over on the corral about spark plugs. One thing that peaked my interest was someone mentioned reading an article in MM&FF a couple months ago where they took a plug, cut the electrode back about even with the center of the plug, and then round off the end. Supposedly, MM&FF dynoed a low end increase of 20ft lbs and claims a .14 increase in ET . There are several people in the thread that state they can feel a difference when they tried this mod. However, I'm not so sure it's due to the mod as it is to the tune up.
So, what do you guys think? Fact or Fiction? You decide!

Seems like concrete theory to me. However, I would expect that gap would open up fairly quickly...requiring re-gapping often. Probably not the best idea for a street car, but would probably be worth it at the track.
Anyone ever take the time to index their plugs?

I actually read it in MM&FF and tried it out.I didn't see any gains at the track on the motor, but on the gas I think it helped??

i read the article too. i think the 20hp gain refered to the whole ignition refreshment (wires, cap, rotor, plugs, and coil), however.
