i was reading a book called "Supercharging, Turbocharging, and Nitrous Oxide" by Earl and Diane Perkins-Davis, and i ran across a NOS setup that looked pretty kewl. its a direct port nos setup, but all of the plumbing was done on the under-side of the intake. ill try to post a pic of it, but i dont know how well it will come out.

i was just wondering if anyone has/or knows anyone that has run this kind of a setup. even if you dont/havent, can you think of any possible problems with this setup? i would think that with the nos and fuel lines being on the underside of the intake (right above the lifter valley) would be exposed to extreme heat, cousing a potentially dangerous situation. is this assumption correct? any thoughts on this would be appreciated.

P.S.- ok..... so i cant figure out how ta get tha pic in tha post, but if you wanna see it just lemme know and ill email it to ya. :)

Well..heat would be one concern as well as valve train interference. It could be a tight fit under there on a SB intake. I saw a SB Chevy intake at a swap meet once that was set up like that. You could cover the N2O and fuel feed lines with black vacuum line and no one would ever know...lol

The other bad thing is that you would have to pull the intake everytime to change the jets. So the initial tuning with it would be a PITA to get the best fuel/nitrous jet configuration for however much you wanted to spray.
Like mentioned, it would also be a space issue. Say on a small block ford, most intakes are open on the underside of the runners to the lifter valley, hence there is oil flowing through there. So not only limited space, but also hot oil splashing on the assembly.
Then there's the danger of if one of the nuts/AN fittings comes loose, it could grenade the motor because a lifter could hit it, maybe bend a pushrod or two, then ingest the stuff into the lower block.

I know a guy who has a similar set-up.

His purpose of having this was to deceive, rape and pillage on the streets. :D

/me 's mouth is sealed.
