This in on my new Ram. Boy they use some nasty stuff to stick those molding and stuff on. I have tried everything. Tried Bug and Tar remover, that yellow(citrus) goo gone stuff...nothing seems to touch it. If I put elbow grease into it, it just smears. I even went to a detail shop and they said they wouldnt touch it. One guy said he has a buddy that does stuff like that for car dealers and he uses a razor blade and paint thiner, yikes! Anyone have suggerstions?

I just had some NASTY tar on my car..... I had tried the same stuff.... I then heard about using wd40. I sprayed it on yesterday morning while I was washing the car and it came off with very minimal effort using a rag. I was very pleased. It will be my "stain remover" of choice on my car from now on I think. Give it a try in an inconspicuous area to start. Be careful of swirl marks on that black truck!
Lemme know how it works!
Btw, AJ Foyt Paint Supply (which is what Chris is talking about) is south of you. Go down the beltway to Bellaire, to west. It is on your left, past Kirkwood. If you pass Cook Rd, you've went too far.

I removed the 'Suburban' emblem off of the back the NFT when we first got it, and let me tell you it was a PITA. It took me two hours with carb cleaner, a heat gun, and a razor blade...
If you're taking off a bunch, good luck!
Chris
I use the eraser thing also. Just be careful or you will burn through.

Thanks Fred, Ill give that WD-40 a shot after I watch the game. That goo gone stuff denfinetly took off the wax too with all the elbow grease I used! Hopefully I didnt hurt the clear coat:(

Well I tried the WD 40 and it didnt help at all, so I just continued on with the Goo Gone. So far I have the drivers side completely done:) Practically wore a hole in my index finger from all the rubbing though. At first I was nervous because the goo gone and elbow grease definetly took ALL the wax and what ever else was on there, and the surface had a white haze and was all scratched up:( After useing some paint cleaner though, that haze and majority of the scratches went away. Put some polish and wax and it looks good as new.
