I just learned of www.pandora.com. It's an online radio station that you 'build' yourself (nice to listen to while surfing).

Put in a song that you like and start 'building' the station by giving the thumbs-up or down on songs it plays and it will find songs to play according to your likes/dislikes.

excerpt:

"Can you help me discover more music that I'll like?

Those questions often evolved into great conversations. Each friend told us their favorite artists and songs, explored the music we suggested, gave us feedback, and we in turn made new suggestions. Everybody started joking that we were now their personal DJs.
We created Pandora so that we can have that same kind of conversation with you."

Carry on.

You can! I run my mp3's from my garage computer (or laptop when I have it out there) through my garage stereo. I have a cord that runs from the aux RCA connection on the back of my stereo... on the other end of this wire/cord, there is a small jack (earphone jack). I plug that into the headphone output on the sound card on the garage computer or laptop. I then set the stereo to aux and what I play over the computer comes out of the stereo. Easy cheesy.
