Are you gonna be at the Car Club Bash. If so I will bring the Tbolt stuff and crites header pictures.
Also, we need to have a tech day with your plasma cutter and my TIG. Check out these mounts for a Mustang. Bet we could build one for my Mustang and one for your Fairlane.

Ken,
Those mounts are NICE! Yes, I think a day in the shop is in order. If we can't plasma them, I know a couple of places semi-local that could do the work (one water jet place just down the road from me I've wanted to try...).
I sent you a PM about the Tbolt info...
Thanks for the link Ken!

I wish we could come up with some sort of mount that you could use on a Fox chassis besides solid mounts that would allow a 351 with stock hood.
I will keep it on my wish list I guess.:D

Shawn,
From what I recall, the mounts on your Nova are a two piece deal. A steel 'box/shell/stamped thingy' bolts to the block (with three fasteners), and slides 'over' a rubber isolator bolted to the frame crossmember. There is a single bolt that runs fore and aft through both of the pieces I mentioned, as you know...
I think the one that is giving you trouble is the isolator to frame; the nuts are located underneath the rail, unless yours has threaded inserts in the rail itself. I can't recall which (it may have both?). I remember the ones one my '79 Z28 giving me a good bit of grief...
I thought I might have a manual illustrating the breakdown, but all I have is an '82...Hmm, I wonder if the big car is the same? It shows three bolts that pass through the frame and mount fro underneath, with a nut on top.

Nay, From what I remember working on the Ventura (same chassis as the Nova), that is correct. It is a big PITA to get to the bolts to get the bottom part of the mount off.

its been awhile since i have even bothered to look/try to get tha frame part of tha mount off, but it seems to me that its bolted to tha frame with bolts and nuts. tha nuts are inside tha crossmember, and the only way that i can see to get to them is goin through a whole and snakin around some shit..... if that makes much sense. it seems like it would be simple, if you didnt have ta snake around tha "shit". so thats tha main problem that im havin with it.
