I am heading out Friday evening around 6:30 p.m. Should be making it to Ennis around 9 p.m. I am up for the food gathering. It always seems to work out best.

If we do this, I can bring hot dog weiners and buns.

Are you guys all running True Street?

Saleen91
09-12-2005, 08:48 AM
If I go, no. I have sworn off running T/S ever again. Plus I only have a 5 gallon fuel cell and that wouldn't make the cruise and the passes. I'll either do QF or OC...or both.

if i run it will be in one of the bracket classes. this will be a weekend long test session. car passed the first test. i don't see any leaks from the new injectors.

Ben, do the ladder bars keep you out of true street, or would it still be legal if you wanted to run it?

Saleen91
09-12-2005, 09:16 AM
Joe,

Did you fire it up with the new injectors yet>

Raj,

I just browsed the rules and saw where technically I couldn't run it (although I doubt they'd check) for the following:

REAR END
Heavy duty unit permitted. Dimensions between axle flanges must maintain stock OEM width. (mine has been narrowed)

SUSPENSION
Stock type suspension mandatory. Coil-over struts and shocks permitted. Heavy duty upper / lower rear control arms permitted, must bolt to the OEM locations on the chassis and the rear axle housing. Tubular front A-arms permitted. Any type anti sway bar system permitted. Ladder bars not permitted.

STREET EQUIPMENT
Working headlights, tail lights, brake lights, turn signals, windshield wiper motor (arms and blades optional), and horn required. All vehicles must be self starting at all times prior to and during the road cruise and also the drag strip competition. All items are subject to inspection by tech officials. (I have no wiper motor or horn)

Ben- They'd check because you would be one of the fastest cars :)

Negetive on the TS thing. Gave that up years ago. Besides, a 13 sec street car isn't exactly something that turns heads. I will be running Quick Ford for this year. Then may give Open Comp a try next year.

Raj,

I don't think so. I was reading the Sept 05 issue of MM&FF and they had coverage of the FFW/Atlanta race. The dude that won that AVERAGED an 8.6! 2nd place was somewhere in the 9's. Dallas is very competitive as well and I wouldn't be surprised to see another 8 second TS winner.

Did you get your hood back Ben?

Well it looks like I'm out for Ennis...

I'm getting too many road blocks to over come.

Plans have changed for me. Instead of leaving Houston Friday evening, I am now leaving Friday morning. Have to run by the office in the morning first. Think I will wait till morning rush hour traffic dies down first since I will have the trailer/car in tow. Probably be on the road for Ennis around 10-11 a.m.

I've decided against going fellas; you all have fun! I have to go to Vancouver Monday morning early, and feel like I don't have enough time to get everything in order properly. I will also miss the last CotT race, as I'll be dove hunting.

Who wants to fly the shorts-n-boots for me in my absence?

O!

This is good to know.. Thought it was going to be a very small showing. It looks like you and joe (maybe) are the only ones racing. (that I know of)

Why you not going Ben? No license or no $$$ for the trip? Or got to work?

You can go to that Ultimate Chevy Challenge and try to run TT5. If you luck out and make a round or two you get some payback.

No money... plus I couldn't clear off my calendar from work obligations.

There's a Viper/Supra dyno day happening over at RSI's new shop this weekend. I've been talking to them about bringing my car out for that.
