View Full Version : Call me crazy, but considering trading Cobra wheels for Waffles...

Hey guys... in the quest for the most stock looking car I can get without going back to 4 lug, I've thought I might like the 16" "waffle" wheels on the car instead of the 94-95 Cobra wheels.

I would THINK someone who has these would want to trade for a better looking wheel, but who knows.

IF someone has a NICE set (not curbed, crappy finish, etc) with tire w/ more than 50% left, I would consider trading my Cobra wheels/tires for em. I have mine on 2 245/45/17's and 2 255/45/17's. The 245's have prob 20% left, and one is KINDA worn on the outside edge. The 255's look almost brand new, great shape. The wheels have some of the clear flaking but it's hard to see from more than a few feet away. The centercaps are in the same shape. Overall, the wheels look great IMO.

The only reason Im considering a trade is to make my car look more stock. Otherwise, IMO, the looks of the cobra wheel KILLS the look of the waffle wheel.

Anyways, if anyone has something and is interested, lemme know what you have and we'll see what we can do. Also, if anyone has a pair that I could borrow to fit on the car and SEE what they'd look like before trading, that'd be awesome too.

I think waffles would look kind of cool on it! Plain. That, or '99 Cobra's... :D

Fred, hit me up if you decide to sell the Cobra's; I'll need 17" for the Cobra brakes...

O!

Is that Teague's car?

Some car I saw on ebay.

I have someone that will trade, but before I do that, I would like to "test fit" a pair on one side of the car to make sure they look good.

Anyone have a pair on tires?

i like the 17" tri-bar wheels that came on the 93 cobra r's, and the 94-95 gt's.

OK, you crazy! I think the cobra's look nice. Or like Jason said, maybe the tri-bar wheels that were on some 93 Cobra Rs

What you really need are the 17" 5 lug Pony R wheels http://www.mavromont.com/

The waffles look OK on our cars, but they are not "stock" enough IMO. 5 lug turbines are what you need! :D I checked my two and they have 215/60/16 and 225/60/16 tires on them.

Yes, I would LOVE to have those, but I doubt anyone out there who has them would want to trade for my wheels. People who buy those usually want the stock look, so trading for my cobra wheels would probably be out of the question to them.

But yeah... those are exactly what I want. The site doesn't list ANY prices on them either, :-(

I noticed that. They are on backorder it says. I think they were like $600+ or so a set for the painted ones, plus the center caps.
