Ranger cam position sensor?

I have a friend with a 97 Ranger v-6, when he got it inspected they ran a code scan on it and said it came up with a cam position sensor failure code, He got the new sensor but now they want to charge him $79 to clear the code. Is there a way to clear this code yourself? :confused:

I 'believe' un-hooking the battery cable for a 10-20 secs will do it.

However, doing it this way screws up your radio pre-sets and clock (at least).

I, personally, go to Auto Zone and have them run the OBDII analyzer for free - then have them reset the codes - for free.

Sorry, I don't think they'll come down off that price.
