No, it is NOT at THR. Rick brought the car to my place late last week. He and I tinkered with it a little, tonight Darrell and Ben came by and between the four of us it now starts and runs. There is still a lot of work to do, but the major hurdle is behind us.

Great news! Congrats guys. I guess when you get your four heads together, great things, almost impossible things, can happen!

Wow. I'm still walking about 2 feet off the ground.
Words can't describe how appreciative I am of everyone who ever had anything to do with getting the engine to run - and that's a lot of folk.
Seems like a decade ago I was sand-blasting the engine bay and cutting shock-tower braces down to have enough room for the engine and headers to squeeze into.
It's come a long way - and it still has a long way to go, but tonight was as MAJOR of a milestone as they come.
Many thanks again to all who helped get it to where it is tonight. Without your help, it would never have gotten this far - as long as I owned it anyway.
You guys are great!

I wanted so much to have a video of it when it first cranked. If Heather's car wasn't in the way, I think I could not have resisted pulling it out on the street and doing a couple of launches! I'll put together something later on.
See also thread dating back to 7/3/2002 where I was decking the attic above the garage and building a workbench just to facililtate working on the Maverick. Some of the picture links are missing but you get the idea. http://pomoforacing.com/forums/showthread.php?t=455&page=1&pp=20&highlight=project
It pretty much still looks like this, only a little lower in front now. :D

As my son says, "Sweet....Mavrick."
Congrats Rick. It must be a great feeling to hear the beast roar to life after such frustration. I still can't wait to see that puppy running.
