My 93 GT is making a really odd noise. Ive been messing around with it for awhile and I have gotton nowhere. Making a long story short, when I start moving from a stop light/sign/or wherever my car makes a noise that to me sounds like that weird high pitched feedback noise when you get an elec guitar too close to an amp. Not a fuzzy sound but a really HIGH pitched scretching sound. That sounds freakin retarded but this is seriously happening and happening VERY LOUDLY. Starting at 1100ish and stoping about 2k. It makes this noise so dam much I can tell when its starting to make the noise and take my foot off the gas and I can hear a very very low noise (different noise haha) that sounds like something is turning. (ex. the wheels!)
Recently its starting to lingure (high pitched noise) around and making the noise at medium speeds about 25 to 45 mph. It does not make the noise when stopping and does not make the noise when the car is in neutral and say I put my foot on the gas. So therefore I do not think it is motor related. But when it is making this magical noise if I push the clutch in, it goes away instantly.
Another odd twist, this noise is Strongly comming from the front passenger side wheel well area. So this makes me think it is something suspension/brake related.
I've replaced on both sides of the front end...wheel bearings, rotors, pads. And I put a new caliper on the front passenger side. Also on the front pass side I swapped out my Eibach for a stocker and that got me nowhere.
Everything on,around, under the car looks normal. All necessary suspension parts have been lubed and relubed. My front control arms were replaced about 2-3years back as well, max 20k on them.
I think next on the list of things to do is pull back tranny I guess and see if everything looks okay. The tranny makes no noise while sittin in neutral so I dont think its the throwout bearing. The performance of the car is great and not slacking at all. I am curious if say my pilot bearing took a shit and say my crankshaft is getting grinded on. Also a friend is lending me his SFI balancer to slap on and see if thats the culprit? I really have nothing to lead me to a balancer but I guess its just hopes and dreams for me now. :(
This just randomly started happening and would like it to go away asap. Any help at all well be greatly appreciated.

Forgot one last thing.....this noise is without question weight sensative. This is what lead me to swap out one of the front springs. When I am driving alone, it makes the noise less than when someone is with me. And it doesnt matter if ur turning right, left or going straight. It'll make the noise whenever.

1 of your noises sounds like the Throw-out Bearing..You said if you push the clutch pedal in..it stops..Just my opinion..

The other noise, I couldn't tell you..Check all Vacuum lines and Upper to lower Intake Gasket leaks..Could be suckin Air to make that kind of Whistling Noise..

you might check the speedo cable. once they get dry they can make all kinds of noise.

You mean where it connects to the gauge cluster? If thats what you mean then Ill try that first. Sounds alot more fun then pulling the tranny back right now. :woot:

i had a very similar sound/situation with my 88gt before i deployed out here to iraq. first the throw out bearing went out (it made a chattery sound for a while before it went out). when it did finally go out, it found a way to snag itself in the teeth on the pressure plate. i took it to the shop and had a clutch swap. well, when they were done with the clutch swap, i guess they didnt put the speedo cable in very well, and the lil bastard popped out, and leaked all the tranny fluid all over savannah. then the tranny started doing the same thing that you just described. very high pitched feedback sound that would go away when you pushed in the clutch. by the time i figured out what the problem was though, it was too late. the noise only got louder and louder over the course of about 2 weeks, before the tranny popped. i would check your speedo cable going into the tranny, and check your fluid level, just to eleminate that as a possibility... its not fun driving to a tranny shop with only 4th gear in rush hour traffic.

Well Ive actually been waiting for the tranny to take a bump. Im running an origional T5 with alota miles. On the nitrous I should be seeing about 550 at the crank. But I dont spray the car much, dont power shift, no sticky tires and when just cruzin around the car bearly see's 2200rpms. For the moment it still goes into the gears just fine. I havent found and tranny fuild on the ground yet. Depending on how much hw I have after class tonight, Ill put it up in the air and see what the dealio is under the car and at the gauge cluster.
I hope its not the tranny right now just cuz I havent gotton it dyno'd lately and wanted to break Fred's mark of 525rwt on a T5. Or some # like that. :glasses:

To test if it's the throw out bearing, ever so lightly press on the clutch pedal. You only have to press enough to bottom out the 'play' in the pedal. This is just enough to put some slight pressure on the TO bearing, but not really move it anywhere. If the noise stops, it's most definitely the TO bearing.

Today I took out the fill plug in the tranny and she seemed a hair low but not much at all. Think this weekend Ill drain it and refill it with new fluid.
Anyone in the 1960/290 area thats bored and wants to go for a ride to help a young brotha out just gime a shout! Im Desperate

Kevin, give me a call this weekend and I can probably give an extra set of ears since I live at HW6 and West.
