Not pretty, but hey, it works :) And nobody will ever see it.

So now, 6 out of the 8 points on my upcoming cage will be tied directly to the frame and not some skimpy 4"x4" plate on sheetmetal...

Also picked up some 2" channel stock that I will cut and fab up some sort of seat mounting braces.

Just on the short drive, the car is noticably stiffer :woot:

Looks great!!

/me wishes I had a car to cut on!!

I don't know what kind of seats you have, but Holcomb Motorsports sells a bracket that bolts in the stock location and accepts a Jaz style plastic seat. It's kinda bulky, but it works. Also Modular Depot sells a nice aluminum bracket for Kirkey seats.

I don't know if you have seats, but Summit has the Kirkey Economy seats on sale for $60 each.

I went today to pick up some Corbeau FX1s. It fits in the car, but the shoulder 'wings' press against the door. No biggie, except when the roll bar goes in... :(

Here's the FX1:

Not sure I want Kirkeys yet...this is still a DD and those things are tricky to get out of if you cant open your door all the way (ie in a parking lot)...

I was gonna just get the corbeau Forzas. Just a tad too tight on my hip tho...It pulls my pants too tight and hurts my balls  ...not worth the weight savings IMO

Will hopefully finish this up tomorrow and/or wed :touchdown

We had some rain this last weekend, so I wanted to get a coat of paint on there for now. I used to hate grinding paint away...then I discovered the joys of two magical bottles that, when put together, makes a glorious light that will burn off paint in a second and even cut through metal like butter :bubbrubb:

then I gotta start looking into chromoly for the cage. This shit never ends

looks good but why not run them under the front frame all the way up like a set off full length......and still go through the floor........

I thought about that as well...but how much do the real frame rails actually twist?
