I'm currently freezing my butt off in a snow storm in Ottawa, Ontario. I asked one of the locals where to go for dinner and drinks tonight and he said "You want to go to the Market, in downtown." Great, my hotel is in downtown. So I googled around and found a web page for "The Market" and they have a section for nightlife... check out the name of the bar at the very bottom of the page! :D Can you say GEEK BAR? I'll check it out and report in (maybe with pics too) later :)

Well I went by... but first a few pics of how bad it was snowing today. The snow pics were around 5:30pm, about the time the snow was stopping. It snowed so much there were even snow drifts in the parking garage!

and finally Zaphod's. I walked in the front door, but didn't go much past it. It was just your regular dance club type, and on a tuesday night there was NOBODY in there... However, the place right next door to it (seen in the farther out pic) is Bare Fax... and multi-story TITTY BAR!!!! :D

All of this is in a market square area known as By Market...atleast that's what I think it's called since there were signs for it. Lots of restaurants, clubs, bars, etc. I found a place called "The Keg" that's a local steakhouse/bar that I stopped in for dinner at. I've been there before, but that was like 1999 or 2000, so I was kind of surprised to see it was still there and in business.

I'll probably wander back by Zaphod's tomorrow to see if there's anybody in there, besides me.

Aww man, I was expecting something groovy and other worldly... like the bar scene in A Clockwork Orange or something! Maybe a waiter with two heads? :-o
