Man my car is a SOB to get into 2nd gear. At a hard launch in first I run her up to about 6800rpm hit the clutch and have to wait until about 4500rpm before it will go into 2nd or she will just grind. Does this mean I need a better clutch to handle the higher HP and rpm or is this normal. I am running 4:10 gears

Sounds to me like a blocker is worn...I've had them delaminate and cause griding when shifting. FWIW, T45's are a bit more costly to rebuild than a T5...

I'm in the middle of doing my first T45, and have the disassembly chronicled in the tech section of the site (have to go to mainpage to get the 'tech article' link though...)

JEEZ LOUISE! 6800 rpms??

I'd love to see the torque curve (don't get me wrong - just wondering if you're actually getting your biggest donkeys at that high of rpm's).

For my information: Do the 'normal' modulars make their usable torque at 'high' rpms (5500+)?

FYI,
My max torque is at 3600rpm@341 SAE and at 6000rpm Im at 300SAE, 6800RPM @ 275SAE but my HP is nearing it's peak at 6800RPM.. Ahhh here maybe this will help:)
