there is a guy who goes by nick over on westsidestangs and he is selling his old 4.6 motor for $150.

my main question is, should I buy it?
my purpose, to rebuild it and swap it for my motor.

he said it doesn't have the accessories, it is missing intake and he said it has a slight rod knock when he swapped it out but it did run.

for all intensive purposes, the main thing I would get out of this is the block, and maybe the crank.
I would get forged pistons, 2001 heads, 2001 intake
should I deal with the hassle of messing with the motor in tact ?
I was thinking tearing the motor down will help me learn the rebuild process better, but I don't think I will keep much of it,
so, another question, will a cobra crank fit in a 2V ?
should I just buy a 99+ 2V block
does anyone know what the price of this rebuild would cost me ?
does anyone know what the price of a 4V rebuild would be ?

IMHO, I'd say 'yes'...

as you said, you plan on replacing most of everything save for the block/crank. It's easier to start on one you're not rushed on, then to try and do it all in a weekend. I'm not sure what the Mod stuff goes for, but $150 doesn't sound bad, IMHO...

Ebay the rest of the parts, and you might come out OK :)

Wait, I saw a link on the Corral the other day: Romeo vs. Windor engine blocks...Please do a Google search and go look at the engine w/info in hand...
