Okay, all I need now is a meter and to finish my charge piping, in order to get my The Green Machine off jack stand racer status.
I had a deal with a guy from TurboFord to buy an 80mm Pro-M cal'd for 42's. Something had been nagging at me about the whole deal though. Like why would he post it for sale on TurboFord and not the Corral, StangNet and other sites that would have more users of said mater ??(2.3T's use a VAF). So I thought better of it before I sent payment for the meter and asked for some pics (up close and personal ones) good thing I did. He must think I'm some lame who just go into V-8 Mustangs. Here are the Pictures of the Said meter

Yeah, that STOCK meter is a Pro-M 80!! And I'm Donald Trumps illegitimate love child! He even had the nerve to add in You do know about removing the post for even more flow right?
Needless to say I'm not wasting any energy replying to his E-mail.

SVT-Kid from Westside Mustang had a post on the Corral Classifieds, selling a Lightning 80MM unit for $125. I contacted him through e-mail (didn't mention I was Alex in Houston or anything) and asked if it was a Pro-M or Ford Lightning meter. I wanted to know because I thought the Lightning meters from Ford are/were calibrated by the computer (scaler value set for 42's) and the Pro-M is cal'd in the meter itself. He says and I quote "The lightning meter IS caled in the meter. I used it with no ssues when I put in th 42s as that is what my tuner told me to do. And I think ben frazier knows what he is talking about." He said I was welcome to give it a try in my set-up and If it didn't work correctly, he'd refund my money.
Okay, well enough. So I look over some sites with pics of the meter. I see it's got the 6 plug square connector (no biggie there) but I also see it's composite/plastic. Which could be an issue because of where I'm forced to place it in my car. Let me elaborate a bit.
I want/plan to run dual intercoolers (ala Incon and Procharger LS1/Corvette kits). I can better air flow across a pair of intercoolers placed in the lower front corners of the fender wells then I could one big one placed in between my bumper (I mean BUMPER and not just the cover) A/C condensor.

Well the only issue that causes is the fact that I now must make a "Y" pipe to join the two outlest together. As can be SEEN HERE (http://www.mustangmods.com/data/920/inrfendpas.jpg ), I don't have much room inside the passenger side fender well. With all my smog crap, CCRM, wiring harness charge pipe from the passenger side turbo and intercooler, there is just barely enough room for the charge piping that will need to be ran to the throttle body. On my other set-ups, I was always able to run the meter in the fender well (useda large front mount) but I wanted to go a different route (Plus I already had smaller side mount units).
The only spot I can place the meter is between/on top of my passenger side turbo. I have about an inch and a half of gap when mocking things up with a 70mm flanged unit

With the meter having tp be so close to the turbo, I'm not too sure a composite one would hold up.
My only other otions are buy a front mount or buy a univers new from Pro-M.
Woah is me, guess I'll have to wait and see if a Univer goes for sale on a board soon.

The Lightning meter is NOT cal'd for injectors. You could put it on a car with a stock eec and stock injectors and it'd run just fine.

The reason Kris' meter ran fine with his 42's is b/c his computer had the 42 scalar input in it.

For the mounting location you're talking about, I'd look for a blowthru ProM Bullet or a univer blowthru.

I may have to break down and buy a Univer though I'm not a believer in tyhe whole BVlow-Thru calibration. As you know, on all my last builds, I used just a plain ole Pro-m 75mm. My car would idle/run/drive just fine. About the only thing I did to make them idle right was rotate the meter until I got a good idle.
Never know maybe I'll find a deal on a Univer or an ATI.

I also plugged in the 80mm LMaf curve into his chip when I tuned his car.

As for the Univ, that's what I got for my car. I'm not a believer in the blow-through calibration either, but I needed a new MAF because the Pro-M 83mm that I had used a bolt on filter with the sampling tube extending into the filter. I couldn't physically mount it as a blow through. That's the only reason I changed and got a blow through Univer.

Also, the 80mm LMAF pegs out around 1500kg/hr or about 500 RWHP. Troy Schlegals car with S-trim and a 3.33 pully would peg this meter. From what I've seen, Pro-m 80's with a 42# calibration usually peg around 2200 kg/hr.
