Hello. I decided to register here after hearing about this place from my buddies FoMoCo1 and OK91LX. I'm adding a pic of my car. It's a 1991 LX AOD. I bought it bone stock in April 2003. I just recently starting to mod it and added a few minor bolt ons last month. I want to dyno it sometime in the near future and see what I can get out of it. I made 184.4rwhp with it stock down to the air silencer. I really want to change the intake before I dyno though. I'm looking at possibly buying the Holley intake. I can't wait for the track to open back up and get some times. I'm hoping to beat some LS1s.

Better watch those LS1's, you'll definitley need a mod or two.
Welcome aboard!

Welcome, like said, better put a couple mods on the car if you want to hang with a stock LS1. A set of 4.10 gears and some sticky tires would help!

You haven't seen me around because I PMed an admin and had myself banned from the other place so I wouldn't be tempted to go back. But now I think I'm going to register again and just browse the for sale/trade forums like you and FoMoCo do. I have no desire to become an official member or participate with them anymore (as if they ever did anything to begin with).
Hurry up and get that project done. FoMoCo, Untchbl and I want to roll down to Buffalo Wild Wings and crash one of their weekly meets.
How do you guys like that Holley intake? I'm thinking of it and some 3.55s. I already have a new set of ET Streets to mount on the Welds I bought from OK91LX. I may need to add some nitrous too, but that stuff scares me. What do you think Todd/everyone else?

No reason to be scared of nitrous, especially if you stay with a relatively small shot.

Holley intake on stock heads? LOL! Sounds familiar... http://www.pomoforacing.com/forums/showthread.php?t=6069
With the AOD, I would go atleast 3.73's if not 4.10's. I just don't think the 3.55's will give you the fun factor you are looking for. Also, at your power level, I would try some DR's before going to ET Streets. The AOD won't hit the tires as hard as a manual would. plus, you would have less rolling resistance with the DR's. Just my opinion though.

I was seriously thinking of buying some BFG DRs for daily driving. I know I don't want the ET Streets on there for my 46 mile round trip to work daily. But I already have the ET Streets in my shop. I may just sell them though. I wonder if I could trade a new set of 28x11.50s for some kind of intake?

LOL! I wouldn't buy BFG DR's for a daily driver also. Those tires are not very good on wet pavement. If you want a DR that can handle daily driving in any conditions, I would only go Nitto's. The will last longer and work great int he rain. 28" tires will be way overkill and probably only slow you down. You will want a 26" tire.

Daily driving on DR's means that the tires won't last very long...trust me. I really recommend a second set of wheels for the racing tires.

Both Shane and Chris have the idea, so put the two together:
No matter which drag radial you choose, daily driving on them will wear them down quicker than a standard radial. If you still choose to daily drive on a sticky tire, the Nitto Drag Radial will be the best of both worlds. It will last longer than any other "Drag Radial" on the market, it will perform better in the rain that any other "Drag Radial" on the market, and it will hook almost as good as any other "Drag Radial" on the market although it is the bottom of the line for hooking drag radials.
IE, at the moment top of the line drag radial for hooking at the track has to be the new Mickey Thompson ET Street Radial. 2nd in line is the BFG Drag Radial. Not too far behind is the Nitto Drag Radial.
All three tires will hook well for a stock or mildly modified car, especially an automatic car.
I've only tried two of these drag radials, equal sizes and I hooked equal sixty foots on each.
1.59 was the best ever on the BFG
1.60 was the best on the nitto
The BFG did tend to be more consistent as far as hooking went. Both tire sizes were 275/50/15.
My normal track tire at the moment is an MT ET Street 28x11.5x15, if the nittos I have were mounted on draglites and matched the car, I would drive on them more and would probably drive the car on the street a little more than I do.

I was considering the BFG DR because even if I had regular radials, I don't drive my car in the rain. I have a Jeep Wrangler for bad weather. So I guess my Mustang isn't a true daily driver. I should have said it's my primary driver. I'm drive like 80% Mustang/ 20% Jeep.
And I know what you guys mean about wet weather traction. I totaled 1 of my other Mustangs in the rain on BFG DRs. I learned my lesson the hard way.
