Hey everyone, I'm going to FFW @ Ennis in September and I don't know what class I should race in. I've looked at the Web Site and it appears that to enter the True Street Class you have to have some extras like, a horn and tailpipes. Anyone's help would be greatly appreciated. I think my car may be a 13 sec car. My mods are listed in my sig, but I've never run at the track. Thanks

Chris

True Street is designed just for that, a True "street" car. Although, some of the cars are not exactly streetable for more then the 30 mile cruise. Most of the time, the tech guys never really look that closely at your car. But then again, I have only competed in 1 true street event. All they did was look to see if I had insurance. They didn't even look under the hood of the car. You will probably be able to get away with it in that event. If not, you could always go run one of the bracket event's like "Street Ford".

You dont have to have tailpipes in True Street. You just need to have mufflers. Also, I've never had them check a horn.

You'll be fine with the car as it is now, as long as the car is legally registered and inspected.

Legally Inspected?? LOL

Nah, you can run dumps, they usually don't do a very good inspection unless you've got a nine second beast with a full cage.
Ajax87LX car had a big 4xx stroker motor, carbureted, no smog of course, something like 4 inch exhaust :wow: dumped after some race magnum mufflers, C4 tranny, etc... and he made the cruise. But barely car was on the edge of overheating even with electric fan and waterpump.
Hell even mine and Brian Warwas cars were getting pretty hot after the Houston Cruise. Ennis may be a bit cooler, but probably not too much. Not like last year.

I didn't know how strictly they enforced the rules for the True Street class. Thanks for the tips guys.

A "friend of mine" told me how strict George Klass was as far as a Tech. With hopes of breaking into the 9 second zone, I spend about $1500 getting the car ready for the event in Houston.

I'm not sure if its cause someone else tech'd in the TS class, or if my "friend" was fuggin with me.

The tech inspection consisted of the guy tugging on my battery box, asking how fast I planned on running(10.0s), and wrote the number on the window.

After dropping $1500 in a couple of weeks on safety equipment, it'd be nice if they at LEAST noticed it.

If you're in the 13's just drive the car to the track, and have some fun.

See ya there...
