When I get this 306 together, I'm going to need to rev it to 6500 to see the power of the cam, so what might you guys recommend. I don't have $400 for a base tweecer at the moment, but then again I don't know what Fred charges to burn a chip if I were to find an autologic chip for cheap.
Recommendations?

Well..nothing's free Carl. Pay $400 (or more) for a Tweecer, and pay someone (Ben?) to tune it. Buy a burnable chip and pay someone to tune/burn it, or buy an Autologic and pay someone (Fred, Ben?) to tune/burn it. It costs either way.

Your'e going to rev a stock block over 6500? Is that safe? You've already cracked 2 of them..working on a 3rd I see :D

Yep, I'm going to rev it that high if thats where it makes power, balanced stock crank, KB Hyper pistons (lighter than stock). Guess we're working on #3!

If I get a tweecer, I'll either have Ben tune it the first time, or get some pointers and tune it myself. Thats exactly what its called though, Tweecer, I'll start with the base factory tune, then lean on it a little n/a or richen it up on juice. It comes with the software, you just have to learn it, Ben learned it!

Carl,

Check out the TwEECer forums (http://tweecer.oplnk.net). Occaisionaly there are used tweecers for sale on there. I've seen RT's go for $400 and base models go for $300

Get your heads and motor done first, then worry about the Tweecer or Chip. :D

And Guff, I run my car to somewhere around 6200-6400 now, but then again this is the miracle motor!
