man chris..... i cant tell you how long ive been pushin james to get tha granada breaks, just so he can start gettin other shit done on tha falcon, but it seems like hes stuck in his ways, kinda like a stubern mule. i love him like a brother, but when he gets his mind set on somethin, thats it. im sure that he will eventually settle fer tha granada's, but how long will it be? :D

just razzin' ya james.... dont get all emotional on me. :D

YOu need to get rid of those early spindles, they aren't as strong as GRanadas. Sounds like we need an assemlby line for this conversion. I got a TIG Nay has a plasma cutter. I also have a set of 99 and up calipers.

$30 from a friend who runs a Mustang shop. Somebody wanted Cobra on thier calipers and left the old ones with him.

Nay Pep boys has them for 40 a piece and a 60 dollar core...Use you granada calipers as cores just take them back after you buy it in the box the counterman will never know the difference that way.

Does anyone know where I can get a set of these brackets made,or if someone has a means to make some & sell them? I need 2 sets. I have a couple sets of take-offs from doing 2 "Bullit" brake conversions. I want to convert my 2 Fairlanes to frt disc brakes, but would like to install these GT calipers instead of the original Granada set-up.
Thanks in advance-Mike

Holy post ressurection batman!

Good one though...

FordMike: as far as I know, no one here as done the conversion yet, as most of our stuff doesn't run, LOL! Making the brackets won't be too hard, but we just haen't gotten around to it yet...

How many sets do we need?
Mike - 2
Shawn - 1
Robert - 1
Ken - 1
Rick - 1
me - 1
and Pat!!! (my bad!)

Sheesh! We need an assembly line!

I have done the granada swap.... my car sorta runs..... it atleast has 3 miles on it right now with the granada brakes on it. Stoping seems to be WAY better than the old drums it used to have.

I damn near plowed through my neighbor's yard trying to stop the Maverick in reverse - at IDLE!

(although it feels like I'm idling at 60 mph in Reverse  )

I've talkied to the guy at Rotorpros(e-bay). He allows for pick-up(Orange County). Not to far from me(los Angeles). I'm also converting my '64 to Granada rear drums. The shoes are 1/4" wider than stock. He also sells plated (though not crossdrilled-LOL!) rear drums for the Granadas. Does anyone know if using the Gt calipers allows for 14" steel wheels?? I'm also running the wider Granada wheels too. Pretty soon there won't be much '64 Fairlane left!!. Also trying to make the Granada booster/master set-up work on my car. Might change to the stronger Granada rear axles if I can find a pair that aren't bent.-Mike

I dont think you can run the stock 14" wheels at all. I tried with mine and the hub of the rotor is much larger than the one on the drums.

I did forget though.. Stockton Wheels can make you the wheels to accept the stock hubcaps and clear the disc brakes in a 15" version. I have a set of them for the rear of my car and they do work on the front 15x7 .
