I finally made a .wmv file that Ron Merx' lovely misus (Lynda) filmed when he ran a (pb) 6.97 run at Sealy. You can't actually see the board (real well), but there should be no doubt after listening to Lynda's frustration about some guys 'getting in her way' (of the board).

'Kick they assus outa way nest tine, Lynda!'

Download Big Bird's 6.97 sec run at Sealy (http://users3.ev1.net/~rickbook/pmofo/big_bird_697.wmv)</center>

BTW, in reference to Ken's comments about getting all the brands represented on this board, Ron (nick=BigBird R/T) could be the MOPAR guy!

Shane, I belive the mph was a high 102. Yes, he leaves from idle -uses the stall to blast off at about 3800-4000 rpms.

Mo, he's not found another truck yet. He's in no hurry as he has no employee (yet) to drive it. The employee who wrecked his other truck is still in the Harris County Hilton.

Man, that is was awesome truck! After watching that video (several times!) and the Chevelle videos (several times!), I concluded I live in the wrong neighborhood...

...and have a crappy job...

...and am REALLY behind on the horsepower curve.

Anybody wanna buy a fleet of junk vehicles?

correction: make that TWO cranks (on TWO - of 3 different engines)

he just recieved a billet crank ($$$$$) and is having it balanced now. 'should be back in bidniz in a few weeks.

also, the cranks weren't 'broken' per se. They were actually NDE'ed and found to have cracks. This one had one crack in it.

The other engine's crank had FIVE. All the cracks were from the rear of the engine forward to the center - an indicator of too much h.p./torque for the crank to handle (from what I've heard).

Interesting on the crack theory, and it makes sense...

I do hope he gets it up and running soon; VERY nice!

Is that really a 10 second truck or is it just really quick in the 1/8th?

Thinking about it it has to at least be a low 11 second ride. Very impressive!

?? never ran it in the 1/4 with that set-up.

His intentions are to take it to HRP and get one 'outlaw' time slip (he doesn't have roll-bar and other safety equipment) when it's running again.

BTW, I can show you a 11.5 1/4 run at HRP with an earlier - less powerful set-up.

(will do when I get home)
