I looked around and didnt see anyone post up a thread (cept for the grub). Whos all going? What do you plan on running?
After a year and a half hiatus, I will be running again:) Ill probably still be on 17 inch drag radials so it wont be anything impressive, but im looking forward to being more than just a spectator and telling people about my car that "isnt ready yet". Ill be in true street as always. I suppose my goal would to be just an 11 at this point (maybe get lucky and get the 12 second index).
Oh as for my brother, (has Mike Arditos old coupe). The car is completely apart at the moment. Got big plans but for now its just a shell.
ROLL CALL....post up

I'm there, was planning on running true street but after hearing all the horror stories about TS I might just hang out and help wrench.

I'll be there in TS trim again. Probably looking for a couple 10s, then a motor pass to get close to the 11.00 average.
10.70+10.70+11.60=33.00/3=11.00
Sounds doable to me!

I'll be there rooting my bro's onward and upward.
No TS for me. Now that my cherry's popped, I'm
considering entering the bracket racing -
(if I can get outta the 17's that is). :ashamed:

I'll be there Friday and Saturday. Not sure where I'm staying, but I'll be running TS (Top Shoe) in my '03 Reeboks. The tread is a bit worn, so I hope I can pass inspection...
Do I need a full interior and wipers?

You gonna be there Friday Ben? Im hoping to get down there soon enough to make some runs on Friday night (and therefore leave the car there Friday night)
Man I would leave you the keys, but they are just too hard too get off my key ring and I need it to drive the truck (yeah thats it)
Im going to the dyno tomorrow. I dont know if I will have a full blown TwEECer expert there. What tables should I be playing with to get the a/f right? I know theres that global richen or lean by a percentage deal...should I just use that? For spark advance, I pretty much got that down, its the table at the very bottom (WOT spark advance vs. RPM).
I backed the timing a good bit and dropped the hammer for the first time last night. All seemed well. The most timing I had was 20 on the wot spark advance, so i know theres PLENTY more...I just didnt want to take chances...ill eek up on it once I get it on a dyno and see the #s. All in all it felt pretty good, but im sure theres a good about of HP left on the table with just getting the timing and fuel right.

Trevor, Me and my better half hope to be at HRP around noon on Friday. I won't be making any passes. Just getting there early enough to in hopes of getting good pit spots and to set up my RV. I will be bringing many cones and hope to reserve a good size area for everyone to fit. Come find us if you get in town early. Not sure right now who else will be there early as it sounded like many of them were having trouble getting that day off.

I'll also be there with a few cones and canopies about noon on Friday. It isn't looking good for getting the car back together though. But after running in four consectuive FFW's getting a chance to watch may not be sure a bad thing. I'm looking forward to it either way and I know my car will be finished in a couple of weeks tops.

You now have an RV too Shane?!?!? The plan is to get there in time to run some test and tune passes on Friday...so maybe somewhere around 6. It will just depend how quick I and my crew get on the road out of Dallas, and then what we encounter when we hit H town friday afternoon traffic. Either way, looks like someone in the pomofo crew will be there both nights to where I could leave the car and trailer there...which is a tremendous help.
Bummer about the car Brent. Youre right though...it is fun to just watch from time to time.
Now lets start praying for good weather. Right now the extended forcast doesnt look too good:mad:

News said this morning that a cold front is coming and expected showers this Saturday. I'd love to head out, but something about being broke, losing my job on Friday, and other family commitments are all preventing such a trip. At least if rain comes I can put off redoing the front brakes on the Honda. :D

Anyone know what happens if it rains all day Saturday? Will they move Truestreet to Sunday?

Even if it does rain, it doesn't look like it'll be something that would cause one to drive off into a ditch at the track and screw up an A-arm or anything. Just a small band headed our way (pretty rapidly).

Im not too worried.... since I've been racing at HRP, I've been on MANY occasions when it was supposed to rain. However, I tend to think all the chemical plants in Baytown have created a chemical DOME over the area, b/c shit always seems to come and go with very little downfall, usually not lasting more than 30 seconds, or it totally skips HRP all together.
No worries here though... Either way, I'm in for the weekend.

Well at this point...im not sure if im coming:o There were a number of things I was wanting/needing to get done on my car and it just didnt seem like the cards were falling the right way. I was not able to get it to a dyno, and dont have an inspection sticker. The weather being questionable added to the equation. I still may come down Saturday morning though...just going to keep an eye on the forcast.

the inspection is not a problem. they don't require one. last time it rained on saturday they had the true street cruise anyway. street cars, right? then had the passes sunday.
White90GT
04-29-2004, 09:35 PM
Well, if they decide to do the cruise in the rain, I wonder if they'll let us put on regular street tires for the cruise. I'll bring the nittos just in case! Better get me some rain-x on the windshield too!

Why would they do that? I mean, technically, if your car is a true street car... you should be able to drive in the rain as it sits, no?
Just wondering how that works.
Snipe656
04-29-2004, 09:50 PM
I thought with true street you could swap tires after the cruise anyway.
Saleen91
04-29-2004, 10:06 PM
FFW stopped letting people change their tires after the cruise. So you have to cruise on the same tires you plan to race on...DOT's.
Snipe656
04-29-2004, 10:13 PM
Bastards, oh well, I am not worried since the only car I have that might see a track again, could not be in true street anyway due to the rear suspension.

Oh, I can drive it in the rain no problem, I'm just thinking from a safety perspective. If its raining hard, I won't be exceeding about 20-25 mph on the ET Streets. No problem on the nitto drag radials. I can still run a mid 11 on motor on the drag radials, but I'm shooting for a couple high 10s.
HoustonLX
04-29-2004, 10:59 PM
Change tires for rain?? ROFL! Like Cris said, the car is a "TRUE STREET" car. If it rains, I am sure the cruise will limit its speed to 20-30 mph.

What in your rear suspension is illegal? If you are talking about rear coilovers, I beleive they are now legal.

Ladder bars I believe are illegal, not sure but I think at one time they were legal in true street many moons ago. Or at least I know my friend ran true street with ladder bars many moons ago, maybe they just over looked that fact.
