Well since my wife is out of town on this independence day, I do what I always do when I'm bored...cruise looking for races.

Well heading out of my sub-division I spot a 99 GT...easy prey. So I chase him down and we hit the feeder off 290 and Telge. We line up and he yells go...5600 rpm comes on in 1st fast and then that's when it happened...the friggin shifter snapped off in my hand on the 1-2 shift. Son of a buck!

Sorry Chris. The only part on my car that isn't mine and I snap it in half. I guess I owe you a shifter handle.

I also managed to slice my palm open shifting on the way home. Hey it beats a bottle rocket to the eye...but the night is still young.

Bummer Kyle!
It's gotta get better though...

Well I hope it gets better Bubba. Unfortunately right now it isn't looking that way. My car also seems to be heating up a little (which is very unusual for it) and is spitting oil out just below the drivers' side head. I'm gonna do a leakdown and cross my fingers.

Chris,

It broke just below the threads. I wasn't too worried about the shifter handle. I figured I could pick one up pretty cheap. I just hope I can get the threaded part of the shifter out of my knob. It really just sorta freaked me out when it happened. I remember the first time I shifted with it, I thought I broke my arm (positive stops did their job)...now the last time I shifted with it I broke the shifter. Looks like the right arm has gotten stronger, LOL!

Let me know if you can get a handle cheap.

Kyle

Kyle...strong like bull.
Maybe you can find one out of chrome moly or something that can better handle your bruteness :D

Kyle,
I guess we gotta stop lifting those 8.8 rear ends...... too much of a work out! Wish it would work like that for me, I could use a little more arm strength!

Hope it all works out OK.
