control arm ???'s

i put some mega bite jr's on my car not to long ago and am not seeing that big a diffrence. i instaled them on the lower setting (even though its a street car) and forgot to take off the quad shocks, would taking off the quads help traction what is the diffrence of the upper or lower mounting holes ?
