This looks like a good idea. I'm always paranoid that mine is going to fall out! :D

HA HA! I've lost and found that little brass piece about a dozen time (and, as usual when I drop it, it doesn't hit the garage floor).

Also, I'm using a piece of Wire to hold the brass bushing in. :D

Paranoid? Whos' wanting to know? Why? I know there's something you're not telling me, right? I knew it! You're all out to get me!

On another, less dramatic note, are you going to run your Musthorse at the C'thon? Wanna set up a b.s. race with the ol' gray mare? It's a guaranteed win! We'll make the bet for $250 monopoly money - or a tranny jack, which ever you prefer.

You coming out again (I can't remember if you posted if you were or not)?

btw, that's a great price for those parts. I figured they'd rape the customer on those (easily lost) items.

I'm still trying to negotiate the C'thon appearance. If so, I could race you on my street tires or something. :) My street tires are so hard I would probably loose. The last time I race them the best I could get was like a 9.25 1/8th. With all those parts you been gatherin up on the boards, I bet your running better than that now. :)

I almost forgot about the tranny jack, I'll need it soon though, I'm gonna sneak over to my brothers house and fix his car while he's not looking. It's drives me nuts that he hasn't got it running yet, it just sits there.:(

The paranoid remark is because my bushing is plastic, and just pops in with not clip. Maybe the brass one is an old idea. From what I've heard, if it comes apart, your basically screwed.

Doug, YES! DO GET ONE OF THOSE bushings/clips. That is the SOLE REASON why my transmission burned up at Houston FFW 2003. The TV cable / TB connection was just like yours... just "popped" up in there. Well, sometime during the weekend, it came out. Here I am making 10 second passes and the TV psi isn't raising one bit. Needless to say, the thing was TOTALLY fooked. Cost me over $700 in parts to rebuild it (didn't go cheap on the rebuild) (thanks again for the help Nay).

If I had even KNOWN about those before my trans burned up, I'd have bought it when I first WENT to the AOD. Of course, hindsight is 20/20. After it happened, I went to TVF and bought 3 sets (the very next week, before I even ordered any replacement parts for tranny, lol). I gave one set to Nay, put one on Cristina's car (we were still in the middle of finishing it up), and kept one for my car. TVF has em for the same $$ as listed on that site if I remember correctly. As for losing them... I used needle nosed pliers to take the clip off, and never had a problem. I would hold the cable up in the tb till I secured the clip (radiator works as a great "tool tray"). I would then let the cable down and remove the bushing from the "stud". They are cheap enough however, that I would recommend buying a few spares. Keep one set in your glove box, in case you ever lose either piece and need to get the car to your destination.

When I pull my TV cable off the car here soon, my bushing/clip will be going into Cristina's glove box.

If you get em at TVF, talk to Mike Horne. He'll know what you're needing when you describe it. You might want to call first to make sure they have it in stock. If not, he'll order em since it's a regularly stocked item. Tell him I told you to bug him.

TVF didn't have them about a month ago. "Special order" ~$10.00 I believe.

But... who knows, they could have them now?

This was a "oh, it's about ten dollars" reponse - without actually looking on the computer - not by one of the 'known' guys.
