I got my new injectors and mass air in yesterday. The old ones were preety nasty. I don't think one of them has a cap that's not cracked or covered in crap. I got 30lb'ers and a Pro-m bullet. I know that they are WAY bigger than I need, but it seems to run pretty good, none of the starting or idling problems that I had been warned about.

After driving it around the block a few times I got the itch to go make a few runs at the track. The car has been parked since about two CCB's ago. So I checked the oil, packed up the tires and tools, and headed out. Luckily my brother was following me there, because I ran out of gas about 10 minutes from the house :ashamed:.

So I eventually make it to the track (About 7:30) the track was PACKED. It turns out they were doing some kind of Street king stuff, I don't know if it was make up for the rain out or what, but they had the lanes FULL. I think all but one lane was completely full when I got there. I changed my tires, teched in and sat in the lanes. I don't have the slips with me, but I think my first run was about 8:45. The first pass I was racing against Mighty Mouse. I hate racing against loud race cars in a street car, you can't hear your own engine. I think he was at the end of the track and on the brakes before I shifted into third. I ran a 13.25 @101.7 with a 1.76 60' and an 8.4x 1/8. That's 3 tenths faster than I have ever run in the car. Normal times are more like 13.6 or.7 with a 8.6ish 1/8. All I did was check the oil before I ran and I know it needs a god tune up and some tuning. I only got to make one more pass before the lanes closed and the starter guy screwed up and made my light red light before I was staged, so I had to back up and start over. I spun and ran a 13.4. I don't know how much of this has to do with the weather and how much has to do with the Mass air and injectors. According to weather.com It was about 55 degrees (Good) but 96% humidity (Bad).

2 hours of driving and $15 for two passes:( , oh well, In January I want to go make a day of it and put the off-roads back on get a short belt, do some tuning and try to get a 12.9999.

Good to hear you're zeroing in on the car's potential. :thumb:

Made another trip to HRP (Hotrodgossip Raceway Park) last night. I put the offroads back on and got a short belt.

First I'll bitch about the track.
I got there about quarter to six and it took 4 hours to get through the staging lanes twice. I want to know how you get the preferential treatment that the HRG guys get. It looked like they get thier own staging lanes and can cut in front of everybody else that has been waiting for 2 hours to make a pass.

THen I'll talk about my passes :)
I bested my old best. The first run was a 13.076@102.84 with a 8.32 1/8th (Old best 13.25). I was hoping to get a 12.99 out of it, but some dumbass (read ME) adjusted the timing without pulling the SPOUT plug (about 8deg base:ashamed: ) and slowed it down to a 13.25@101 for the second run.

I pulled back into the lanes at 9:55 by my watch and they waved me off and said that they were closed. They had been talking about this big race between two HRG guys at the end of the night, so Avery and I went to the stands and watched it. Those guys are going to die running like that. oneof the cars got sideways twice, once at the 60' then caught back up to the other guy and got sideways again at about the 1000' mark and somehow recovered it. Avery and I went to go change the tires and belt to drive home and the fuckers turned the lights out. so we changed the tires in the dark with all the idiots hauling ass all around us in the dark.

Oh well, I got a new best and made it home without breaking anything. Ill have to go try the new track. Two trips in a row I've been stuck in the staging lanes while the HRG guys make passes. We used to go on Sunday nights and make 8 or 10 passes and still have time to watch some races from the stands. Last night I only got to see one race from the stands.

Nice job! Running pretty nice with such simple mods.

I can imagine your frustration at the track, however, on a good (great) note ....... you DID get a new PB!

Twelve's aren't too far in you future! :thumb:
