I have worked a deal with Steve at Houston Performance for a WSM/PoMoFo dyno day Satuday August 10. Assuming we can get atleast 20 cars, cost is $35 for 2 pulls. There will not be a maximum as Steve said they dyno'ed 43 cars one day with 2 hours to spare. This means we should be able to handle any and all that come. On the day of the dyno, however, a sign up sheet will be set up on a first come first serve basis. I still would like a show of hands as to who is going. That way I know for sure if we can get the minimum of 20 cars. This is also posted on WSM.

I'm down with a dyno day. Maybe I can do better than the last time out when the car wasn't getting any fuel! I'd be looking for around 280 to the wheels NA and about 400 or so on the bottle. So put me down for a spot.

Kick ass! I've been waiting for a dyno day at HP!

Maybe I'll have my parts installed by then...seeing as it is a month and a half away :).

But to make it clear, yes, I want to be on the list.

In my experiences it makes little or no point to have a list. You should just make it first come first serve up to the limit (if there is one).

Here's why

A. There's ALWAYS drop outs and/or no shows
B. The shop almost always does more then they claim the limit to be if there's cars still waiting.

I think it is mainly to judge the interest. He'll probably get 40 people to say put me on the list and half of them might show. But then there will be some that just come to watch and decide they want to try it.

The couple of Dyno days I have been to it was first come first served. No one looked to see if I was on the list. :D

Exactly...if you showed you were dyno'd. The list pretty much goes out the window. I dyno'd at MTI last week that LS1tech.com set up. I was like #10 on the list but I got there early and I was the first to roll onto the dyno.

/me dynos 347 on engine stand in garage and gets 623 h.p./557lbF T @ 12,552.7 rpm (using a 700 shot of NAWZ)

I bet you had one big mess to clean up after spinning that motor to 12K+ RPM ;).

I can picture Rick with one hand trying to hold the engine stand steady to keep it from becoming a propellor and the other hand trying to hook up the jumper cables to the starter. A man of many talents.

I calcamatate horsepower by measuring how long it takes the engine to reel in 100 broken cranks chained together from inside my neighbor's garage (across the street) back into mine @ WFO.

The Torque is measured by multipying the distance from the same neighbor's kegerater to where the fartherest crank lands up in my backyard TIMES the number of budweisers I've had.

Lost many a good wife doing that shit. :ashamed:

A simpler solution might involve a chain, a pulley, and that broken down station wagon on bricks in the front yard.

Just measuer how long it takes to tow the 6500 lbs. wagon through that tall grass a certain distance in relation to time.

Shane,
Will they allow quick changes between runs i.e. timing?
Ken

Ken, the deal is no tuning between pulls. But I doubt they will mind if you can make your changes (i.e. timing) quickly.
