Okay local FE guys (and you know who you are), an aquantence of mine pulled up in my yard yesterday in this:

It is 'believed' to be a genuine, numbers-matching '71 Mach 1 - (haven't confirmed it yet - will do VIN search) with the 351 Cleveland (location of w.p. and valve covers clues). The front clip (among other things - wheels?) has been changed. All in all, it's a great start for a nice street car.
He was told by the previous owner that the engine needed a valve job. I advised him to get a second opinion from someone 'in-the-know'. If it truly is an original 351C, then get an FE guy to look at it and have them perform the job (rather than some local yahoo who doesn't understand what he's working on).
So, local FE guys (and you know who you are), I told him I knew a hand that could hep him out - at a cost of course.
He's leaving for Arizona at the end of next week for a month, so the car will be available for at least that long to be worked on.
PM me if interested in making a little extra $.
BTW, this 18/yo kid goes to UTI full-time, works a full-time job as a night-time grocery store stock-boy, takes care of his mom, and worked extra hours for 3 months to save enough to pay cash for this car ($3,500). Gotta admire his fortitude. Wish all 18y/o's were that way.
He was in agreement that he may have to work more o/t at his job to pay the extra to have good work done. He said he'd park it and save up the money rather than have someone cheapy "F" it up.
