Well, as some of you might know, the motor in the 86 is on it's last leg and needs rebuilding/replacing. Late last year, I had a job that consisted of replacing a motor that had a busted crank (http://www.pomofo.com/MotorInstall/BustedCrank.jpg), with a sportsman b50 block and stroker kit. I, in turn, purchased the block with broke crank (http://www.pomofo.com/MotorInstall/BustedCrank2.jpg), as a core to rebuild for the 86 motor. I grabbed the crank from Shane's old motor, intending to give him the one out of the 86 when I got it out and torn apart. All I planned on doing is replacing the crank and bearings. That's all the block (http://www.pomofo.com/MotorInstall/Block1.jpg) looked to need. The cylinders were perfect and the car had NO ring probs before it blew up, so I wasn't gonna replace them.
Well, I started tearing the block down the rest of the way tonight. Up till now, it's sat with the crank in it and pistons. Anyways, I take the crank out, and start wiping the mains clean, preparing to install the new main bearings. Low and behold, look what happens when I wipe the #2 main....

LOL! So, turns out, I paid $50 for a set of pistons and rods, as that's all that's good from this thing.
Welp, now I can just rebuild the one out of my 86, when I get it pulled. I will be putting the pistons from that broke 92 block into the rebuilt motor.
Oh well, it's funny, b/c im not even mad or irked, but more so kinda impressed at the damage that was done by previous owner, lol.
Regards,
