When dumping the clutch at various rpms, how much, typically, do the rpm's drop on a mildly modified 5.0 (say 325-350 horses)?

(assuming traction is good)

@ 2,500 rpm?

@ 3,000 rpm?

@ 4,000 rpm?

@ 5,000 rpm?

What do most of you 'pedalers' launch at (when the track is good)?

Thanks,

Rick

Rick...

When I was on the ET Streets, I was to busy holding on for dear life when I was launching at or above 5k rpm's. So I really can not give you a solid answer on that. However, I would think that kind of depends on the gears being used. I would think a car such as mine equiped with 4.10's would not drop near as much in the rpm's as say as car equiped with 3.55's would. Just my guestimate though.

On Nitto's, I launch at at about 4500 or so and ride the clutch out. When I launch the car drops to about 3500 or so I'm guessing and I've pulled a 1.74 on the Nittos this way.

LOL! I can imagine!

How many times did you launch at 5K before you even opened your eyes!?

At launch, I'd be thinking, "Well, here goes a tranny, u-joints, rear, axles, wish-I'da-bought-the-C-clip-eliminator" etc., etc., etc.,

I'm a wimp. The biggest clutch dump I've done so far is 4k. I know there's better times in a 5k launch but I'm skeered something on my 3800# lead sled will break...and break badly!
