I STILL CAN'T STAND A-BODY HEADERS!@!!!!@!@!@!!!!! Man, I hope the performance gains are worth all the friggin' headache. I went from an el-cheapo set of 1-5/8ths Hedmans to a set of 1-3/4 Hooker SC's. The larger tubes HAVE to help, as much of a pain they are to fit. I hope like heck that this thing has SOME improvement. The removable tube on each of the headers is nice, but I can't see how they won't leak. I mean, they just slip on. I know most of the better headers out there are like this, I just never saw how they would never leak. Anyway, I'll climb down off the bitch stand and go now. I just wanted to vent. Oh yeah, I had to ding the hell out of the driver-side, even with a manual steering box.

For those of you that don't know, the center-link and the driver-side tie-rod ends MUST be removed to install most headers on an A-body Mopar. Man, that just sucks.

Are Mustangs that bad? I'm sure there's got to be something that you have hell with when twisting wrenches on your cars.

I feel your pain, Scott. I was in the same delima, go with the 1-5/8" and 'easy' or 1-3/4" 'hard' method. I chose the harder (and way more expensive) method.

My Hookers use the same slip-tube type connection.

There are (Lap Joint Exhaust) clamps on the market to help seal them. Thanks to Otis for finding this link: http://www.dynaflexproducts.com/clamps.html

Also, Ken (FeRex) uses a different method. I'll let him splain it.

Yes, the headers were a MF to install !

Oh yeah, I had to buy spacers to go between the heads and header al$o.

I just keep thinking that it's all gonna be worth it. :hope:

Good luck,

Rick

Cool. Thanks for the link. I'll give it a shot.
