Well, I finally got the car to make its maiden voyage to the track with the fresh motor. I had around 100 miles on the clock as I drove it a few times around town, back and forth to my parents place, etc...
3:30pm, give the car a wash job to get all the rain and mud off of it from daily driving it LOL.
4pm loaded it up on the trailer and strapped her down, loaded the ET streets, jack, tools, etc... in the truck
4:15, went and took a shower and got prepared.
4:40 headed to the track. Sundays gates open at 4pm, track opens at 5pm.
5pm unloaded the car and went over to tech for the normal put a sticker on the window, take a glance at the roll bar and send me on my way. Lowered the tire pressure in the nittos to 12.5 and headed straight over to the lanes.
Got up, did my burnout, staged, green light, semi-rolled into it to keep the nittos hooking and then romped, but whats this, the damn hood latch popped loose. Damn! Had to fofeit the race, proceeded to the end of the track to run a 23 second pass at 35mph LOL.
latched the hood and went around for another pass, this time the car had started getting warm and someone noticed some water spraying out from under it before I got on the track. Damn! Pull back to the pits and find that stupid freaking blockoff hose on the water pump spraying water out! So I parked it to let it cool and unhooked the trailer and proceeded to Oreilly's on N. Main about 6 miles away. Got two more blockoff caps, two hose clamps, and some black RTV and headed back. Car was cool enough then, I changed out the cap and put on two hose clamps this time so that I wouldn't have to tighten them down so much and I would have even distribution on the rubber. Fired her up and no leak!
OK, headed over to the track with no changes other than dropping the nittos down another 2 lbs as when they were heated they went up to 14.
Did my burnout, staged, green light, launch. I rolled in again cutting only a 1.79 sixty foot on the nittos this time.
1.79, 7.64@92.05 1/8 mile, 11.91@114.99 1/4 mile. I was happy as at the last races, my best mph was only 112.x, so I picked up 2mph even with the motor barely broke in and running on 12* timing.
So I swapped on the ET Streets, set pressure to 12.5 cold, bumped timing up to 14* and made a pass:
1.69 60', 7.52@92.6 1/8 mile, 11.79@115.31 1/4 mile
So bumping the timing picked up .4mph.
Next pass, let the car cool down about 20 minutes, bumped the timing to 16*, checked tire pressure to 12.5 psi and made another pass:
1.68 60', 7.47@92.83 1/8 mile, 11.73@115.60 1/4 mile.
So the car is still liking more timing, picked up another .3mph
Keep in mind I am running close to 11:1 compression on 93 octane fuel. I had about 4-5 gallons in the tank and I dumped in 1/2 gallon of xylene which I hear is good for an octane boost, lots of supra's use it. So my octane is probably somewhere around 96
Let the car cool again maybe another 20 minutes, bump timing to 17* initial and make another pass.
1.67 60' (oops, thats the best not 1.68), 7.50@92.77 1/8 mile, 11.76@115.48 1/4 mile. This was at 8:23pm. So it didn't really like the 17*, so I dropped it back to 16*, then decided to drop the fuel pressure to 38 as opposed to 41 (since the car showed a very rich 11.5:1 a/f ratio on the dyno previously). Let it cool 20 minutes and got back in line only to wait another 30 minutes due to spills on the track. 9:15pm
1.69 60', 7.54@92.89 1/8 mile, 11.80@115.56 1/4 mile. So it didn't like the fuel pressure dropped that much. I went back and bumped it up to 39 psi, confirmed timing at 16* and got back in line only to wait for more spills on the track to be cleaned. 10:05pm
1.69 60', 7.48@93.02 1/8 mile, 11.73@115.68mph 1/4 mile.
So I guess thats the run down. Car likes 16* timing for now, weather was 80* when I left the track and I think I heard like 55% humidity. So it wasn't stellar, but wasn't bad. Vehicle weight with me and no nitrous bottle was 3145 lbs.
I've got to save my pennies and get some new tires. I'm thinking I want to get a set of 26x10 ET Drags for bracket racing and find a half decent used set of ET Streets or some tall drag radials for True Street runs.

That's the way to do it!

OK, well maybe just a lil 125 shot for a few passes at FFW for a 10 second average.

Make sure you have all the vacuum line connectors intact,
because you know you can't
