Unfortunately, this starts with a sad, sad story...

On the way to the track, I noticed that my water gauge was stuck at 100, I glanced at my transmission gauge, same thing. 'Hmm'. So I called Fred and let him know, he asked how the car was running, I said a-ok, no smoke, no weirdness... so he was like, okay, that's fine. Great I thought. When I GOT to the track, my car was SIZZLIN'. Well, from the fuse panel, we have one wire going to a power distribution block, which the gauges run off... and so does the DAMN FAN! Apparently, I must of kicked it when getting in the car, and it caused the wire from the fuse box to come undone from the distribution block! Dude, what a horrible way to start off!

The sizzling was coming from the bypass hose from waterneck to waterpump. It came loose, apparently from pressure or something. During this hole time, all I could think of was "Crap, I married into the Bingham curse, I've fucking blown a head gasket or something worse.". Luckily, we tightened the bypass hose and put water in the radiator (saw no bubbles), let it run and idle for a bit, it stayed at a 180 the entire time... we were a little more at ease.

Enough of the tragedy, the reason we went to the track was to see how she'd do with the changes: 4.10s to 3.73s, 90/10 drag struts, removal of front sway bar and a different valve body. My previous best was a 12.2@108 with a 1.65 60'. I started off the night with a 12.160@110 and a 1.71 60'. That was pretty cool. I went a few more times, running a 12.1 or a 12.3. My last pass of the evening, I let it cool down for a bit and Fred turned my fan off after my burnout... she went a 11.9@111 with a 1.65 60'. That rocked!! I was totally happy. I think the lady that hands out the time slips got the whole 'happy' from me too. As soon as I pulled up next to her, she looked at me and said 'You're going to have to wear your fire jacket." LOL! I was like, you're kidding ME!? That was cool.

Anyway, we wrapped it up after that due to icky clouds 'n stuff. It was a rain out! So next time I go to the track freeeeeeeeeeeee... :D :)

It was good to see Dougstang out there too, I LOVE that car. Robert_B was there as well with 'one of the' Kevins. I also met some new folks!

Had a blast - can't wait to do it again.

/me sees a new blower pulley in her future...

Thanks everyone! I'm very excited and looking forward to 'what's to come'! PLUS... the day was a rain out, so we get in next time at no cost!

Congradulations Cris, you've defiently earned that time slip. It was an uneventful night for me, that makes 6 times to the track that I haven't been able to get into the 10's. The past 6 trips have neted me a 11.0-11.1 timeslip, last night was no different with a 11.10, after that one clean run I started have problems with the adjustment of the second gear band and wasn't able to get another clean pass in. I did manage a 1.48 60' on one of them though so it wasn't all that bad of a night, and hey it was free! I'll be back out there next weekend probably if I can get my transmission adjusted correctly.

Congradulations! 11's aren't easy to come by! Ask me how I know...

WTG cris!!!!!!!!!!!!! is your fire suit pink ;)

was it good to see him your rearview? HAHAHA. he came home and said, "cristina beat me." and then laughed b/c he got beat by a giiiiiiiirl. HAHAHAHAHAHA. doug told me one time he'd only leave me for a girl w/a cool mustang....i'm so glad you are happily married cris (fred, keep her happy)...LOL.

doug is feeling a little bummed...the stanger ran slower than usual and he even took out about 75 pounds or so before he went to the track. blah....

toodles,
ang.

I thought Doug was running pretty respectable times considering his combo. If I'm not mistaken, an automatic hurts some combos and helps others and it may not be 'helping' him? Does he manually shift it?

No, my fire jacket is BLACK :) I just wish the sleeves weren't 10" too long, and the jacket itself is down by my knees. :D

BTW, thanks for the congradulations, Brent! I'm still way envious of your 60'. :)

Hey Mike, remember someone over on HTown said you get banned from HRP if you run a 10 with no cage. How much are you spraying to get your mid 12 n/a car to the tens?

You wont get BANNED. That person was talking out of their ass. You get told to go back to tech or not run again.

Mike, I'll be out there tomrrow night if it doens't rain. I'm gonna trailer the car to work and leave from there. Lets line em up for the hell of it...if you beat me your likely in the 10's. I've been to the track 6 times and all have resulted in a 11.0-11.1 run....I can't get past that hurdle!

By the way, Carl is right I'm on a 200 shot right now but have ran 11.30's on a 150 shot. My car isn't as light as people think, its 3,000 with me in it.

Hope to see you there!

If you break something, give me a shout. I live 12 miles from the track and have the trailer at my house. Brent also has a trailer, but he would have to drive his car and you'd have to pull yours.
I'll come get you and haul you back to Humble for say $35
I'd do it free, but you'll be taking me away from working on my car, and it cost $$$ in gas. LOL

shweet! I got no problem paying for the gas, just as long as i get the hooptie home. I just hope i dont have to get it drug home.
