I want to get rid of that tube that sits on the passenger side of the intake. What do I need? I'm assuming just a hose and a fitting that will go into the lower intake where that tube screws in, but does anyone know where to get a fitting and what it looks like or what its called? I already don't have a heater core and just have a loop back connected to the tube. Anyone have any pictures?
I'm trying to save some weight and that tubes got to be worth 1 lb LOL

I just have a brass pipe reducer screwed in the hole in my lower intake with my ECT sensor. I believe the reducer is 1/2" to 3/8". I picked it up from Lowe's in the plumbing dept. :)

The ECT sensor goes into the heater tube pipe, so you will need to find a way to adapt it so you can still use it. I don't remember what size the threads are but I got the stuff needed to do it at home depot or lowes.

Ben is correct, the ECT is 3/8" NPT and the hole in the intake is 1/2" NPT.
So...you need a 1/2"-3/8" NPT reducer and you're done! Only other thing you may need to block off is the rear EGR coolant port on the lower intake....although I bet that's already a done deal with that Vic 5.0.
Good Luck

Carl--ha, what a coincidence--I just spend the last 4 days doing this to my car (finished it two nights ago)--my car runs much better than with the looped hose connecting the tubes...Heres what I did...I went to ACE hardware--got a brass 1/2" NPT "T" (3-female outlets)
in the middle outlet I put a 5/8" barbed hose fitting to 1/2" NPT male,
the top outlet has the ECT sensor with a 1/2" NPT to 3/8" NPT reducer.
and the bottom outlet has a 1/2" NPT nipple (1" long) which screws into the intake. So now you run the hose from the water pump into the 5/8" barbed hose fitting. This way you still get the same/or better flow--and I can build my own heater tube later on when I decide to put my heater core back in.
I also plugged the rear intake hole (as previously mentioned) on my lower cobra intake.
CAUTION--the hardest part is getting the old heater tubes out...I spent about 8 hours cutting the old one out because the soft aluminum intake threads didn't like the way I was applying torque to take the old one off--YES the intake was still in the car when I tried to take the old tubes out. I had to retap the threads (freaking 1/2" NPT tap is $30--sucks ass) so if this does happen to you--give me a ring and I'll let you borrow my brand new $30 paper weight. My number is 281-686-9136 should you run into trouble.
