Well, I finally managed to get the motor in the car. I still have a LOOOONG way to go, but here is what it looks like.

WTG, Troy!
Is that a temporary plate (used as a jig) or is that your permanent motor 'mount'?
I like the looks of the plate structurally speaking, as it appears it distributes the weight of the engine perpendicular to the frame (straight down).
Comparitively, 'standard' offerings distribute the weight and tork of the engine outwardly on the 'frame' (because of the angled supports).
Am I way off-base in my assumption?

I can't give an exact answer as to the theories of plates vs. mounts because I don't know.
The reason I went with a plate is because it was easier. I wanted the motor as far back and as low as I could get it. I could go back and build mounts but that would be a pain.
Oh yeah....the plate looks cool too!!
In case anyone is in the market, I have a motor plate for a 429/460 in a fox for sale.
