Good morning fine folk,

6:24 a.m. 'Couldn't sleep so I came and sat down by my friend (and long-time enemy), "PC".

I noticed that some boards have daily sign-in's and thought I'd put one on here today. I'll try this method to vent my bitching and get it outta the way so I can start my 'new' day.

'Couldn't sleep last night. Woke up at 3:00 and have been awake ever since (still got "bleeding ear" probs too. "Poor, poor, pitiful me).

So.....I decided to go ahead and put my headers up on Ebay whilst I was restless. 'Was 99.99% complete when my PC crashed (I'm going back to 98SE I think). In retrospect I shouldn't have turned off all the little thingys that take up memory (to help prevent lock-ups and crashes ;) ). I'm guessing I turned something off that prevents the "auto-save" from backing up Word docs (program I was creating the ad in). 'Couldn't find the saved document.

The farther we advance technology-wise, the more opportunities there are for let-downs.

There's my moaning and complaining for the morning. (I'll try to get in a better mood by the time you get here, Fred.)

Now I know why someone started this trend, I feel much better now (not). I'll be surprised if I don't delete this post prior to 'submitting' it.

How's your day so far? Got big plans?

/me resists the urge to hit the 'back' button

Well, woke up at 5:20am, took a chower, had a slim fast and couple pieces of toast, and headed to work. Got here at 6am and hit the boards. So the day is going as it always does.
Got the news yesterday about the babies. We went to Renee's Dr for her 4 month ultrasound and the babies are one boy and one girl. He's pretty sure about the boy, but said there is a slight possibility that the cord was hanging down there. He couldn't get a good clean shot between the legs of him since there were two and the girl was taking up the space LOL. The girl was obvious though.
As long as I get one boy at least, I'm tickled LOL. I guess it'll be a little cheaper this way since we kept most of my daughter's clothes.

"Women!"

Hahaha! Funny stuff. 'Hope Renee is doing well.

"Slim-Fast" ay? Some racers will do ANYTHING to improve their E.T.'s! ;)

Good luck to you and yours,

Rick

Good Morning folx!

I have had a normal running late uneventful morning =)

However, my daughter was in an unusually good mood this morning! yay! She also sat straight up in bed this morning and said "Sarah is going to cut my head off!" I was a little confused! So I asked her who Sarah was and she tells me some girl in her class. I asked her why she was going to cut her head off and she said "i dunno, because she wants to" wtf do kids come up with this stuff!? lol While I didn't find it too amusing that my child is talking about people cutting her head off, Micaela had found it quite amusing!

I guess I will be getting my linux box at home reset up so that i can shell in and chat from home... I got "caught" yesterday by our IDS system and got a nice email from the Security asses that IRC was probably not something we wanted running on a server. Bah, what do they know!?

I can still AIM tho!
So if any of you are bored and would like to entertain me... darvawrk is my screen name!

lol

Hope you all have a great morning!

Funny Stuff!

I love asking kids what they dreamed about (earlier that
morning). A lot of the responses are hillarious (do these kids get
into our drugs when we're asleep?).

Because my 5 y/old macho nephew was obviously shaken one
morning, I asked him to tell me what he might've dreamed about
that morning. In a very serious tone, and with big warning eyes, he said,
"I can't tell you........ It'd scare you to death!"

LOL! Innocence - I love 'em.

they say the darnedest things don't they? lol

It cracked me up that she said it with such conviction... then fell over in a fitful of giggles.

Was much better than the standard whine and cry b/c she doesn't wanna get out of bed =)

hehe

I sat here for a bit before commenting, trying to think of how IRC is a security risk? 'Splain it to me, Jenn! You can't chat from "your" personal desktop at work?

I just woke up, I have nothing noteworthy to contribute to this post. :-P

Oh! BTW! Congrats, Carl!!!! Good thing there's a boy in there, you'd go mad in a house full of females!!!

Good Question!
I'm not really sure how it's a risk either... But I got this email yesterday "This box (servername) is causing "IRC Chat" alerts on the SourceFire IDS. Could be legitimate "chat" (although, not sure if you want that from a server) or could be something else going on." from a "Senior Information Security Analyst." And rather than argue or whatever with him, I just deleted bitchx and went on about my day. What gets me, is I've been chatting from the server for OVER a month and they just now caught it? WTF is that? lol

I could chat from here, however I do not like to use mirc b/c it's too obvious and the friggin bitch-x client for windows sucks ass... So until i either find another command-line type client or i get a linux box set up here... (which should happen soon actually) I'll just chat very seldom.

Blah on them!

Jenn,

You're more than welcome to SSH to my Linux box at home to get on IRC ('tis how I do it from work). PM for details if you're interested.

As for my "sign-ing" I have been getting up earlier than normal this week. I've been doing this as it's the only time I can get to work on the car, uninterrupted. This week I've been sanding and prep'ing my front bumper & ground effects so I can repaint them. This will be the 4th time it has been repainted and the 3rd time I've done the prep work for it. I'm definitely getting better at this as it's taking me less time to do the prep work each time. I left the car with the entire front end masked off and will shoot primer either tonight or first thing tomorrow morning. I hope to have it all done by Friday, but we'll see.

I'm all excited about trying out my new paint gun. For those of you considering doing something like this, do NOT get the tiny Porter Cable spray gun from Lowe's. Lowe's carries two, I have no experience with the larger gun ($100) but the tiny gun ($60) SUCKS! The fluid tip in it is too small to spray paint or primer. I don't know what they expect people to spray through this gun but the only thing it's capable of spray is 100% paint thinner! I bought and used the tiny Porter Cable gun when I repainted my front bumper the previous time and I wound up fogging out my garage and barely getting enough paint on the bumper/gfx to coat it. It came out looking ok but felt gritty. After that experience I went out and researched a good quality gun that would be used in a professional paint shop but affordable to somebody doing their own work at home and wound up with something that came recommended by hobby'ists and professional painters alike. I'm hoping the new paint job will turn out better than the last one I did. If it doesn't, please don't point and laugh and splotchy front bumper! :(

Now I just need to load and unload my car from the trailer CORRECTLY to keep the front gfx from bottoming out and chipping!

Our IT group are a buncha NAZIs!!! My drawer was stuck, so my supervisor went into their little 'realm' and asked them for a screwdriver and the dude acted all fucking rude "What do you need it for?" - like a goddamn screw driver is a security risk!

Ah well :) I use mIRC, but I'm pretty much alone all day.
